From what I’ve heard by the lead actor you’re not meant to like Joe. He’s a murderer and creep. But we see the show in his perspective. Perhaps to question how flawed his rationale and delusions are. Like everyone else, Joe does have people he cares about like Paco and we see that too. It’s about how the “nice” white guy gets away with things.

Last episode I mentioned that the scene between Joe and Peach at the party was significant. He did take the book and gave it to Paco. Joe describing Beverly Hills Cop as "it's funny but the danger feels real" is literally so very Joe, that it's wild. And I honestly don't think we are "supposed" to like Joe, but if we do like Joe, we're supposed to question why we like a stalker/murderer and what sorts of traits we value in our main characters. But, I really don't think the show is pushing Joe as a likable character and I think the show itself isn't interested in telling the audience directly how to feel about Joe. We're just meant to take everything we see at face value, decide for ourselves and then, criticize why we feel a certain way. However, I do think this show is built for people to criticize "nice guy" tropes, like Joe. Joe's luck in getting away with things is that he's "nice", white and male lol Beck,,, definitely needs blinds.
