Oh come on, ofc its hard to hear. Look, ive ot nothing against Delena, but think about it from Stefans perspective, that shit definitely stung. It's like what you said, she USED Stefan as a crutch and discarded him when she no longer needed him (I dont know how ppl say Elena is any better than Katherine), she strings them both along and picks Stefan at the end of s3 then changes her mind and instantly sleeps with his brother. Personally, Im glad for Stefan, he deserved better than all her wishy washy BS , she played games with them both.

2021-05-13 15:46:40 +0000 UTCI always interpreted that as she went back to Stefan when she was human out of obligation. She felt she owed Stefan her love because she met him first and her was there before she even healed from the death of her parents. Also, if she had those feelings for Stefan at the time she turned, those would have been heightened as well, since they didn't and she sired to Damon, that leaves me to believe that while she did love Stefan when she was human, she was not in love with him, she was just with him again out of a sense of obligation to make it work with the guy she was with first. Also, I think her desire to not be like Katherine played a role in her "feelings" while human so she continued to try to convince herself that she was in love with Stefan and had no romantic feelings for Damon. Again, just my own interpretation...

2021-05-13 15:28:05 +0000 UTChow is it hard to believe her feelings for Damon are more real than what she felt for Stefan. Stefan came into her life almost immediately after her parents died and she broke up with Matt. She was sad and vulnerable. Her actions have been that of someone clinging to a life raft with Stefan in the 1st season. She even said it a few times, a few different ways, including when she was talking to Damon "Stefan came into her life at a time when she felt alone and needed somebody. Had she met Damon first things might have been different." Thing is she did meet Damon first but he was ready and neither was she. Their attraction and bond grew after she healed while Stefan was her crutch so she didnt have to really heal, she just clung to him instead.

2021-05-13 15:26:54 +0000 UTCThose are valid points I agree the sire bond is the least favorite part of this season which is one of my favorite seasons is does nothing for the plot....I just think the writers should just went with she fell out of love with Stefan through time and eventually fell for Damon with her feelings being magnified, simple and plain......but then they add the sire bond which to me added a lot of contradictions that you may not catch watching this show for first time(like to me the Elena feeding on Damon kinda downplays the sire bond because that right there is just a whole another level of intimacy for vampires plus she was a new vampire which I find strange that no one else doesn’t think this somewhat swayed her decisions.....and then the way she describe how she feels for Damon is the very reason why she didn’t want to be with Damon and the same goes for Stefan it’s like the writers decided to flip everything Elena was feeling w.e she though was good is now bad and w.e she thought was bad is now good it’s just feel like they made it more complicated then it needed to be....... My true theory is that its different levels to the sire bond, Tyler’s experience to the sire bond was only surface level because he already hated Klause but I truly believe that there’s different versions of the sire bond and the show writers didn’t even know it until it was too late🤷🏾♂️

2021-05-08 08:28:23 +0000 UTCI agree with most of your comment. The writers have not for a single second thought about consent when it comes to the show. We saw that with Damon and Caroline in Season 1, the blood sharing which, yes, people definitely just let fly and see as this iconic moment, and now, having the reveal of the sire bond happen concurrently as Damon and Elena are having sex. Or even with the general concept of compulsion, as we know Katherine used compulsion and simultaneously had sex with Stefan. And sexual acts under compulsion are also hinted at with Stefan and Klaus, and probably thousands of other vampires. The sire bond is probably my least favorite storyline because it does not do anyone any favors and it really only functions for one reason, in my opinion. And it has nothing to do with the greater storyline for the show. My theory on the whole human Elena vs. Vampire Elena when it comes to Stefan and Damon would be worth laying all out here, but I think that might spoil a few things. I'll try to explain my views on it. I always read Elena going back to Stefan, as Elena going back to what was familiar and comfortable and safe, rather than going back to Stefan because she actually "loved him more" than Damon. She "chose" him, sure, but the show contradicts Elena's logic she used to choose Stefan in the same episode, which, to me, made that choice fraught and questionable. In terms of her feelings magnifying for Damon, and not for Stefan, I do think her feelings magnified for both and I don't think the show is leading us to believe otherwise. The problem is she let herself fully feel all her love for Stefan as a human, which magnified into a great love for him as a vampire. But that doesn't mean Stefan and Elena's relationship worked. Actually, it hadn't been working for a while, which I think is just revealed by how we see Stefan and Elena's relationship play out in the first seven episodes of Season 4. It's very possible from what we know so far that Elena fell out of love with him when she was a human. Or, despite the magnified love, she still fell out of love with him when she became a vampire. Or, it might be the sire bond affecting her thoughts. We technically don't know at this point, but the show is leading us to believe that it's one of the first two and not the latter. At the same time, the show lets doubt about that creep in any way, so it is really an open field. With Damon, she repressed so much of her feelings as a human, that when she became a vampire, that love magnified and became loud and clear and undeniable. And rather than her loving Stefan less, I believe her love for Damon more directly interfered with her love for Stefan, more obviously than it did in Season 3. And she could no longer repress it. Those are my two cents. Sorry for this unbelievably long reply lol

2021-05-07 01:00:02 +0000 UTCThe sire bond to me has always been weird, the show does clearly define it doesn’t change how you feel but how you act which in my opinion is just as bad.....Human Elena would’ve never chose Damon but add the fact she fed from Damon (which is a whole different issue that people forget about) and plus is sired to him kinda goes against everything Elena is saying.....Stefan maybe in denial but for good reason she was literally on her way back to him before she died and all of a sudden she’s team Damon....now we know your emotions are heighten when you are a vampire so whatever she felt for Damon was magnified but nowhere does it say your emotions decrease for someone .....that person being Stefan her feelings were literally night and day pre vampire to post vampire.....fans have speculation about the sire bond because with the show says it does but shows us kinda contradict each other....the sire bond thing just wasn’t executed well IMO

2021-05-07 00:23:02 +0000 UTCI don't think April healed from the blood. Shane didn't die, so she didn't die. Or, at least that's how I understood it. She woke up soon after Shane pulled out what Kol impaled him with. And sending Elena away didn't break the sire bond, it just rendered it useless. They made a big deal out of it, because they wanted to highlight it as a noble action, and also show it is clearly not something that Elena wanted. I think the big declaration could have happened a few episodes later, but I guess it makes sense that Rebekah playing her games sort of expedited that process. Stefan is in big denial lol That's how I saw that moment at the end. And, at the end of the day, in some people's minds, it could all be the sire bond that is affecting how Elena is feeling. Although the show has already told us in 90 different ways that that is not how the sire bond works. And in terms of the show's plot, it makes the love triangle seem like it's not over.
