he got rid of that tier because he watches too many teen dramas to keep up with the current active shows and adding ones he had people paying extra to fast track threw things off and he couldnt always meet the demand

"How do you know you can trust me?" "I don't. That's what trust is." Great writing.

This season is darker than the previous ones. However, this whole show is kinda dark if you think about it. I mean...they left ships full of people to be murdered at one point. As far as Galen and Tigh going to far... I don't really think I agree. They are in a war essentially. Originally they started out just killing cylons, but then it escalated to having Duck walk into the graduation ceremony with a bomb. Yes, it killed some of their people, but it was those working for the cylons...the ones they considered traders to their people. So they were not really concerned with killing them. In this episode it started to escalate further with them talking about the market, which would kill innocent people. They said they wouldn't hit the market in the end. You mentioned that you didn't understand by Galen was angry at Gaeta because he was clearly helping. Remember, Galen doesn't know what Gaeta is doing. He slips them information sometimes, but Galen doesn't know the extent. He doesn't know Gaeta was the one sending them information with the dog bowl signal. From his perspective, Gaeta is working with the Cylons and giving them information about the humans. Galen may even suspect that Gaeta told them who would be fighting back and even to take Callie. He has no idea. All he knows is that Gaeta is working with them and occasionally gives them a few tips like he is doing here. The people fighting back are mad at any human that seems to help the Cylons. They think that they should all be resisting rather than appearing to work with them in any way. The ones working with them are the group that are trying to survive by going along with it. However, fighters like Galen and Tigh don't believe in taking that path. They seem them as traitors. Just like the ones hiding their faces with hoods. So...the Cylons approach really makes sense. For example, Six and Sharon did want to come back to live in harmony, but the other Cylons are more vicious. Notice that all the Number One models (aka John Cavil) always want the harshest approach. They always recommend setting a firm example and they are the ones that pushed for killing all those people at the end of this episode. The other Cylons all have varying levels of bloodlust. Just because Sharon and Six want them to live in peace doesn't mean that the Cylons are going to follow that. You ask why they continue to stay. Well, one reason is their original reason. They couldn't reproduce remember. That's why they had the camps for women on Caprica. The Cylons are all wrapped up in being "God's children" and one of God's commandments, according to them, is to reproduce. Well, they know that Sharon and Helo were able to reproduce even if the baby didn't live. So they figure a Cylon and human together might work. That's a reason they are pushing so hard to make this colonization happen...even if by force. Some (like Six and Sharon) are also there because they want to be with the humans again. So I guess there are various motivations as to why they continue to stay. It's also funny that you seem to not be on Tigh and Galen's side. I think you're probably one of the very few that has that view. The Cylons are invaders essentially holding them hostage. Tigh and Galen are just trying to get the humans out some way. They are the ones that managed to establish connections with the Battlestars to open communication for a rescue. They are the ones trying to fight to save their people. You said there was nothing that Gaius Baltar could do in this situation but sign the document. It was putting people to death under the guise of law and order. Well, Gaius could have refused to sign even if it meant his death. Then the Cylons wouldn't have the cover of "working" with the humans anymore. They have Gaius as a figure head President (just for show) to make it seem like they are reasonable. Without him...they are dictators. So yeah, Gaius could have done something. Instead he chose to save himself instead and sign all those people to their deaths. He's as selfish as ever. If that had been Galen in that position he would have told them to go to hell and took a bullet to the head rather than sign that document. In my views...the collaborators (those working with the Cylons) are traders. They are giving the Cylons cover to continue making it look like they are reasonable people trying to work with the humans. I get why they are doing it, but it's mostly self-serving reasons, like Gaius. In writing this I realized how a lot of the names start with "G". Gaius....Galen....Gaeta....all similar.
