I love Fire and P.D. vut I got tired of Med's constant relationship dramas. Not tht Fire and P.D. don't have those but on Med it's become more unbearable.

I started off with Fire then PD right when it started b/c of one character and now Med probably within the last year as well. I think PD is pretty solid consistently although some cases are a lot better than others.

When I was young I loved to watch "Emergency!". It came from an era where EMTs (emergency medical technicians, Dawson and Shay on Chicago Fire) were a real novelty. Before that they were basically better taxi drivers and the pilot episode of that show also dealt with the issue of what EMTs are actually allowed and forbidden to do on a patient and what falls on the responsibility of the doctors in the receiving hospital. EMTs are well trained, but just like nurses they are not qualified doctors and aren't allowed to do all kinds of medical procedures, especially in a moving vehicle. The firehouse 51 consists of 5 major vehicles: Ambulance 61, Truck 81, Engine 51, Squad 3 and Batallion 25. The last one is Boden's car. As a batallion chief he's the boss of more than one firehouse but firehous 51 is his base of operations. Squad 3 is a special rescue vehicle that not every firehouse has, it's for things like we've seen in the pilot, water rescue and other unique stuff. Engine 51 is basically the car holding all the hoses and has onboard water tanks in case no main line is available. Truck 81 is the ladder vehicle, to get the firefighters to elevated positions and evacuate people from highrises. That's why Brian's nickname is Otis, a pun on the elevator company, because he operates the main ladder. Ambulance 61 is, well, the ambulance.

I hope you continue this series. Out of the one chicago trio series, chicago fire is the best. Chicago med and chicago pd are a hit or miss.

Slight correction: Severide is lieutenant of (rescue) squad 3. Casey is lieutenant of truck 81. There is a third vehicle, engine 51, but I'm not sure if they've ever specified in the early days under whose command it is, if it's also Casey's.

Yeah Boden is the chief and Casey is lieutenant of squad and Severide is lieutenant of rescue. Just a nitpick, we don't call them 'firemen' anymore, it excludes female firefighters. Just like they do in the show, we call them firefighters. :) I love this show and all of the Chicago shows! Thank you so much for reacting to it! I'm so happy to rewatch season 1 with you 💕

Interesting that you love Grey's but didn't watch Station 19 (spin-off) as it is also about firefighters - haven't seen it as I think one firefighter show is enough for me especially I am so invested into this one. This has been one of my top probably 2 shows in the last few years but wasn't sure if it would be a good reaction series. It is a really good pilot with introduction to the main characters and their personalities.
