i know you’re far past this episode now but since no one ever helped explain the thing with lincoln’s gf i figure i might as well — you may have noticed it later editing or something but what james says is actually “he nearly murdered the poor girl,” key word being nearly. it’s still a rather severe bit of paraphrasing imo as he makes it sound like lincoln nearly beat her to death or something, but james technically wasnt outright lying and it wasnt like a discrepancy in lincoln’s story or anything.
