i'll just delete my comment. i didn't really think it was because they've always talked about how the ring and supernaturals so i just assumed he forgot about it or something.

I never liked Shane either, but my thing with him is that he's an impressive villain. All the stuff that he orchestrated with deaths of the town council and the hybrids, being Bonnie's "diffuser" (as I like to call him) and getting the hunters on his side - he's truly a mastermind. And underneath it all, he's actually just a huge nerd, who definitely wants his family back, but also was geeked out about Silas. That's why I think he's cool, but he's for sure not likeable. Also, in this episode, we see an instance of Damon's selflessness. I swear he has a selfishness switch, or something, because he very frequently flips back between the two. I think he's been more selfless than selfish throughout the run of the show, but that's another discussion for a different time. Also, this sire bond stuff continues to be wacky and exhausting. Damon tells Elena that she should go, along with Stefan, and Elena immediately refuses. Stefan is the one to convince her to go. Show writers, explain yourself! In terms of the Tyler/Caroline stuff, there was something missing, but I guess timing and pacing of the episode was a factor. There was more important stuff to deal with on the island than an extension of the Tyler/Caroline stuff, so Forwood had to be sacrificed. At least that's my guess. Ultimately, there should have been discussion of their possible options. I think Caroline could have at least talked about going with him, and Tyler shooting it down, not wanting that life for her, on the run. But then again, I never really cared for their relationship. So... eh.

100% a spoiler since he was asking if he had the ring on so he'd have maybe been surprised when they revealed it doesn't work. It's been 10 hours at this point, but I do think you should probably edit that out, in my personal opinion.

Solid 9 in my books, I loved all the twists. Tyler/Caroline kinda hit me this time around 2nd viewing, but it didnt hit me originally because I was shipping Caroline and Klaus hard so I was cheering Tyler leaving hehe. Jeremy death scene was quite shocking, you say you are conflicted since we didnt get to say goodbye or anything but the "out of nowhere" element is what it makes it memorable imo.

Katherine saved Jeremy at the time in the forest because Bonnie needed his hunters tattoo to open the cave later on in this episode (where Silas is resting) then, she fed him to Silas after it was successfully opened. Enjoyed your reaction! I felt the same way about Tyler and Caroline, maybe it was the way the scene was worded? It just didn't stick the landing for me. It was also great to see your reaction to Katherine showing up. Lol
