Have you not listened or followed the show when you react to it? Ryan has great grades, even the counselor wanted him to take AP classes to become an architect. Ryan is smart as hell, he just makes dumb choices sometimes.

2021-07-13 12:28:44 +0000 UTCOne of the first things that we know about Ryan is how intellectual he is. The first episode Sandy comments on his high test scores. Plus he has taken AP courses and has overcome adversity in his past. Colleges love that. Within the Orange County bubble not so much, but yes colleges would definitely take interest in him

Yes for Orange County his history is making it look far-fetched, but from an educational standpoint it makes sense that Berkely would like to have Ryan, paving his path to potentially become an architect.
