Carmen being impressed doesn't mean he was automatically admitted to NYADA. Carmen also told Jesse his vocal range and passion was admirable, but he got rejected too. This is supposed to be the best PA school in the US, meaning no matter how much Kurt impressed Carmen, odds are someone else is always going to be more impressive. Kurt is amazing, no doubt. But he's not on the same level, with vocals or ambition, as Rachel. Getting into the final stages was an accomplishment for Kurt, but being a finalist and having a good audition does not mean an automatic acceptance. It made sense to me because that is how PA schools work. They make the best applicants finalists, but only accept the best of those best... Kurt making it to the finalists and having a great audition and still being rejected is VERY realistic for performing arts schools. It happens all the time. That's why dancers/singers etc train from being children to get there and most of them don't make it either.

Sure, but once Kurt qualified for the finals, there was no reason why he shouldn't have made it. His audition was outstanding and the recruiter told him she was impressed. The storyline was so sloppy and it made no sense.

Cole

I didn't say HOW she got in was realistic, but in real life if Rachel auditioned for NYADA, she would have made it over Kurt every single time. Her transcripts are amazing since she's president of every school club, she's a good student except that one cheating scandal, her voice (imo) is better than Kurt's. Besides it's not unheard of for talent scouts to go to national competitions to recruit for performing arts schools. The only unrealistic thing is that Carmen didn't offer Mercedes and Santana a spot. But it's completely realistic that Rachel would make it and Kurt wouldn't. He's good, but he didn't try as hard as she did and his voice isn't as strong. Even Jesse didn't make it into Nyada, and his voice is miles ahead of Kurt's.

AllieDoh

Realistic? How is Rachel making it in by getting Carmen to come to their show choir competition to give her a third chance and Kurt not getting in despite being told by Carmen that she was impressed realistic?

Cole

As much as I love Kurt, I really do think this was the most realistic outcome. Lea/Rachel rubs a lot of people the wrong way (with good reason) but that doesn't make her any less talented. NYADA being portrayed as the best PA school in the US, it makes sense that they don't care about dreams and how much a person wants something. They also view Kurt as any other applicant, not like we see him. All they care about is talent and ambition, and I may be the only one thinking this, but Rachel has more ambition than Kurt ever has and her voice is amazing.

AllieDoh

too bad think harder on what happens to kurt it gives him tons of character development and if you cant see that then i dont know what to tell u..... stop complaining lol we all know what happens next

Mike Denny

Nah Kurt definitely should’ve made it over Rachel

Deon Keul

There isn’t really any reason at all that I can think of.

Fizzy

I’m not gonna spoil you but just know there’s a reason Kurt didn’t get into Nyada and you will come to understand and love this decision

Mike Denny

here’s to season 4 🥂🎉 we made it. also this is the last season for finn/cory so let’s appreciate his character as much as we can😔

This finale was the epitome of finchel and friends. I’m so tired of their drama. The break up between them has been projected the whole season and they really assaulted my eyes with it in the last damn scene of the season. It was well acted, I just didn’t care. Brittany FLUNKED out and didn’t get as much screen time. It’s infuriating tbh. Kurt should’ve got into NYADA and I will FOREVER be mad about it.

Fizzy

That Rachel/Finn ending RUINED me when I first watched. I honestly don’t think this ending is Rachel getting everything she wanted. She wanted Finn with her. She wanted Kurt with her. She didn’t get that. She wanted to get married to the love of her life. She didn’t get that. I think this ending is very fair because as Rachel said, dreams are complicated. Rachel has always wanted to go to NYADA, sure, but she didn’t want to go at this time. I understand why people were upset because I think Kurt deserves to go but if we look at high school activities, Rachel at least got a lead in the school musical and a bunch of other activities. Kurt gets Officer Krupke and pretty much nothing else. I agree that Rachel getting in wouldn’t happen in real life, but I don’t think that Kurt not getting in was so unbelievable.

I Am Not Chamari

lmao who told you sam is leaving??? sam’s not leaving 😭😭

madeline z

Kurt in reality shouldn't have made it. Kurt doesn't have the best transcript and extra activities. And frankly as much as I like Kurt (he's one of my favorites), he wouldn't get admitted based solely on his one performance in what is billed by the show as the most premiere performing arts school in the US. That just absolutely wouldn't happen. Of course this school is fictional, so perhaps its supposed to have a huge student body. If it does that does increase the chances of either making the cut. Most top tier schools even performing arts school still count your actual performance in high school grades, activities, ect. We have no idea on Kurt's grades, but he even admits he lacks activities. Rachel has the extra curricula's we know her grade point average at one point, she has better references. But she blew her audition. Back in the dark ages, I was ranked 2nd in my state for three years for my voice category. And while I got excepted everywhere I did apply, even got several offers for full rides), I absolutely understand that I would not make the cut for the top performing arts school in the US. Not a chance in hell. But I can say people can get a second shot at auditions, its rare, and its extremely lucky if it occurs to you. But once she got lucky and got heard, she at least had a remote chance. Now the fact that she got a 2nd chance to be heard is the real miracle. But a recruiter for performing arts (I don't know if she is just on the vocal side or if she is in all studies of performance arts) has a better then average chance to be interested in seeing the national competition of show choirs, just because a lot of the developing talent (at least musical theatre side) would be in those groups. Especially in a city she is already in. It would be (in my knowledge) unheard of for them to make a special trip again to see someone.

Mark Wood

tbh rachel is not getting it all since finn is breaking up with her and canceling the wedding

leslie martin

finchel <3 (yes i'm crying)

leslie martin

Rachel sounded awsome at the beginning of her audition, I think between that and her never giving up and going to see her in person may have got her another chance. Just my opinion. Can't wait for you to watch season 4 and watch what happens to all of then!

Cheryl Stocking

I enjoy watching your reactions to Glee. Can't wait for season 4. I think Rachel and Kurt both deserved to get in

Cheryl Stocking

Every time I think about this episode I think... what if the NYADA slot Rachel got was Kurt's until they gave it to Rachel. Ah well. Rachel gets what she wants no matter what.

Haughtbreaker Nic

I was also very annoyed by the fact that Rachel got in when Kurt didn't. It didn't make any sense to me either. But that's glee for you - a lot of stuff in this show just doesn't make any sense.

thisismaria27

I love this episode but the one part that makes no sense is Kurt not getting in... he killed his audition and Lea's and Cory's acting at the end were so good it gets me every time.

Kp

cory's acting in that car scene......it just gives me chills every time. i've never been invested in finn and rachel but that scene breaks me every time. the emotion in his voice. wow.

emily ღ

cant wait to watch this with you gonna be great
