You should have watched the credits on this one … - (Major) The ending credits get interrupted with a surprise extra scene that sets up the next episode. - (Minor) The opening credits were changed (because Clara is briefly pretending to be the Doctor, Jenna’s name was listed before Peter’s, and it’s Jenna’s eyes that are shown).

However, the part with him choosing to send the kid back bothered me a little, it made sense that Danny would do that, but I had forgotten the kid even existed because they really didn't do anything with that story, so I didn't find that great, I also didn't really care much about Missy's whole plan with the clouds and everything, wasn't the most interesting plan. But I did love the real plan of Missy trying to give the Doctor an army and it all tying in with his questioning if he was a good man, I thought that scene was great. I was also definitely sad about Osgood's death especially with the Doctor implying he would take her through space and time but yeah everyone's else's death on the plane and Kate's supposed death being sucked out of the plane felt a little rushed, however I did love the moment with her dad saving her, because of the history of her father, the Brigadier in Doctor Who, but if you don't know the history I can definitely see why that moment wouldn't really mean anything. Plus, I thought the ending was really well done, both of them lying to make the other person think their happy and everything's fine.

I still got teary-eyed because of the future they were supposed to build and the lying for the other's benefit, even though we are sad, ending. I feel like because we knew too much about the characters and what their future was obviously going to include. They had to throw a wrench in it so we couldn't predict it by making us think that there was no way they could die, how could Danny Pink die if Clara has kids with him? Counter point, I don't know if Danny has any siblings out there, he was an orphan. But that leads the question where did the astronaut Pink get the toy soldier from if it was a family heirloom? Was Clara and Danny's future together just not that overall important that it did not become a fixed point, so it just got erased when Danny died? Was all of it a hoax by Missy so that Clara would ask the Doctor to find Danny in the afterlife, without which they never go to 3W and Missy waits until the Doctor randomly shows up at some point, or possibly never does and she never gets to give him his birthday present? And so on. One thing I really love about Doctor Who is that it makes me think. I am very excited for your reaction to season 9! It's got a lot of great episodes in my opinion.

I don't think her plan was as important to her as messing with The Doctor is. I love the scene of The Doctor and Clara lying to each other. They both just want the other to be happy and they both think that each other is better off without them. They have one of the most complex and unique Doctor/companion relationships. Also Donna absolutely has the saddest ending. Sure she doesn't feel pain but she also has no idea who she was, who she could be. She has no clue what she's capable of, the lives she helped save, all the good she did and she'll never know. She had to best development of any character and it all got wiped away. At least Clara gets to remember all the incredible things she did, The Doctor changed her life and she will always have that.

Basically just to add ties to classic who. The Birdadier was in 28 stories which on average each story was 4 parts. Some might cry spoilers on that and maybe a little but honestly you havent dipped into much else of the whoverse I cant imagine you getting around to classic. Assuming this even gets read lol
