I wanted to point out that Jules has known Shawn for about 7 years at this point in the show. 7 years of him lying to her face, breaking the law, and then a relationship. That's gotta hurt.

2021-06-30 21:59:47 +0000 UTCI think it depends on what you mean by lies. Whether or not he is psychic is fairly meaningless outside of the personal lies, the law doesn't recognise it anyway. I doubt any cases would be overturned as a result of it turning out he was making educated guesses, or even wild guesses, rather than being "psychic". It is his other activities which are the bigger issue - breaking in to places and crime scenes, taking evidence etc which he then used to make his guesses/what he figured out. Although she doesn't know that part right now.

2021-06-22 16:53:15 +0000 UTCGreat episode. The thing we know most about Juliet is that she wants honesty above all else. Even back when dating Shawn 2.0 (Declan? I think), him coming clean early on was a big deal to her. To know Shawn has been lying from the start, and worse, has put her in a spot where she is now breaking the law by not coming clean to her coworkers. If she does come clean, a bunch of cases get thrown out for illegally obtained evidence, if she doesnt... shes knowingly breaking the law that shes sworn to uphold. So yeah... not an overstated reaction imo.

2021-06-22 08:35:02 +0000 UTCi feel like re: jules, it'd make more since if they hadn't messed with her family situation so much. at the start of the show, she's super family oriented with loving parents who are together and a big boisterous family. then seasons later, it gets rewritten that her dad, and i believe step dad too, are both con men and liars and she comes from a messed up past of being constantly let down by the men in her life. so when she finds out shawn has been lying to her this whole time, it really is heartbreaking to her. i wish the show played up more about jules and her family and even her relationship with shawn. once they got together, their relationship wasn't touched on very much here and there. looking back now, there's things i wish would have been a bit different to make this moment more impactful. but it still holds its impact in spite of that. she's hurt and feels very betrayed by someone she thought would never hurt her or betray her. also shoutout to the nice gus moment at the end. he's been wanting that phone call all episode and she finally calls and the moment he sees jules pour the drink on shawn, he's like "i'll talk to you later" and imediately goes to check on his boy. i loved that little moment so, so much. but yeah, jules thought shawn was someone who'd never hurt her. and it turns out that he's had this big lie that could put all their careers in jeporady. i don't blame her at all really. and as everything has unfolded and we've seen more and more (since the change-up regarding her family) that really, lassie and shawn are the only two men in her life she's closest to (aside from henry and gus) and her heartbreak is understandable to me. the whole situation is such a mess.

More than anyone she believed in his ability, she was amazed by it, charmed by it, she believed in him, in what he could do. To find out all of that was a lie would be heartbreaking. Shawn was looking around at the happy people in his life and thought about their history and he didn't want to lie to her.
