I hate Holtz. I don't care about his anguish and the way he is portrayed is annoying. I just wish they had gone in a different direction for the bad guy here.

2021-06-23 23:30:33 +0000 UTCyeah i think that last line from angel was suppose to be a deliberate mislead but in hindsight it was a really bad joke that angel would likely never make/say. and like andrea said -- the talking burger was suppose to add to the ridiculous-ness of it all so wes would be less likely to take the warning seriously and so both wes and we as the viewers would be more surprised when the events the burger predicted actually came true at the end. the next episode is fantastic and one of the best of the season i think. can't wait to hear your commentary on it.

2021-06-23 17:50:10 +0000 UTCI dunno why, but I always forget about that last line and it always makes me do a double take on rewatches. Because yeah, who DOES make a joke like that in that situation? Even with their bizarre lives? When I first saw it, I convinced myself that was his way of pointing out all the blood he was dripping all over the place (like the blood would be the "snack"), but...yeah. I like the burger demon spirit thing because it gave me Ghostbusters vibes, lol. And like you said, it added to why Wes was finding his whole situation "comical" there toward the end. I also think this episode was where I first started to appreciate how much Wes has evolved as a character since we first met him on Buffy. He handled that whole scene in Holtz's cult HQ like a boss. 🙌
