Rosalie and Ian did date it was mentioned in the episode. The flash at the end was not Nick figuring out the Captain was bad just that Ian wouldn’t be safe out there and that this war was spreading to Portland. When the wesen change in front of Nick it is an emotional response, they lose control when their emotions are heightened. There are two types of changes which is the emotional change which only other wesen can see as well as Nick and the other change is when they want to be seen by anybody. The reason Ian couldn’t go to the hospital was not because he is a creature but because that assassin was looking for him. Being what they are does not stop them from doing what regular human people do.
