Peter wants Kate dead because she would be a loose end and she could turn on him once the plan is done. Liam is showing that he is scared but he inst really reaching out to anyone. Scott noticed a couple episodes ago how scared he was and took him home but Liam is trying to seek comfort without telling people what is wrong and pushing Mason away when he asks what is wrong.
