Not even just the visions. Wesley would have talked to her.

Calvin Allen

If cordy was there, Wes would have confided in her. I see why she shouldn't have been there because she would not have let him go through with this

Calvin Allen

Exactly my thoughts

Primus

I love your afterthoughts reactions to this episode. How pissed you are with Wesley was my exact reaction as well. Also when it comes to Cordy, just put it in your mind that most of what happened with Wes couldn't have happened if Cordy was around because of probably her visions? I don't see anything happening the way it did if Cordy was in these episodes.

Man I remember first watching this and really pulling for Wesley because I know what it's like being the odd one out who knows what he should do with there being no time to explain it. Then he gets his throat cut and I'm like 🀯🀯🀯 Just wait my guy, shit is about to get nuts

dude literally my thoughts exactly

Yahbut cordy not being didnt change imo. What would she really have done in that fight besides kinda be in the way like fred. Maybe she wouldve sniffed out wesley wierd behavior but other than that it wasnt that big of a deal

Anthony, yea I just looked it up and you’re right. The stuff I was thinking of was season 4. I thought it might have started now. But also it makes what Joss claimed about being totally shocked by her pregnancy even less believable because he clearly already knew she was trying at the time.

Rida

To my knowledge, didn't Charisma have a miscarriage around this time?

Anthony

If you want to know why Cordelia is gone, look at what Charisma Carpenter has said about Joss. Actually maybe don't yet, cause it might spoil stuff. But basically why Cordelia isn't around much is cause Joss is an asshole.

Rida

regarding your statement about this being the way they write connor off...i don't want to say too much because i don't want to spoil anything, but what i will say is the connor storyline is not over and to trust the writers. yes wes behaved incredibly stupid here, but not out of character. wes behaving rashly is not new for him. especially being in a leadership role. he has a history of not consulting the group before making big decisions (re: faith in the episode 'consequences'). he didn't trust that the group would understand and that they might not agree to keep connor away from angel. angel definitely wouldn't have agreed to this. so he acted in desperation and did what he thought was best. his main concern was saving connor and he didn't care who he pissed off to do it. also, i think cordy not being here was deliberate. next to angel, cordy is the person wes is arguably the closest to. the storyline would've unfolded completely different if she were there because she likely would've found out what wes was up to or he would've confided in her and told her. nice idea in theory, but it would've prevented a lot of the twists and turns in the episode from happening. lastly, angelus killed holtz' family, so holtz taking angel's son is actually the perfect revenge and vengeance is ultimately why holtz is here in the first place. i get your wonderings and concerns, but i think this is a great episode.

Wolfram and Hart has wanted that baby ever since it was born. They've tried to kidnap him already at least once. That grey haired guy who is Lila's (lawyer lady) boss has talked in previous episodes about needing to study him since his conception and birth was pretty much impossible and they wanted to find out what he is. Connor's blood was stolen by Lila so they could run tests on it. I believe it was Sahjhan who came up with the plan to spike Angel's normal food with the blood in the hopes that he would be driven to eat Connor. Remember that Sahjhan's ultimate goal is for the baby to die, like he said at the end of this episode.

Stephanie Bedworth

Wes starts to slowly become the most interesting character on the show from here.

WB

I think most would agree that Wesley's plan doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but remember that Wes has a history of making decisions without consulting the people around him. He feels alienated from Fred and Gunn since they started dating. Cordelia isn't around. And he's afraid of Angel because of the prophecy. It echoes the situation w/ Faith in S3 of Buffy. Wes is making the choice he feels is necessary because in his mind nobody else would understand. It's a recurring character flaw.
