Comments
I'm not reading through all these comments/arguments, but I would suggest you all go on Youtube and watch Heather Thom Counselling's reviews of Gilmore Girls. She goes in-depth with all the relationships on the show and that includes Dean and Rory. Very interesting stuff.

2021-07-15 21:49:47 +0000 UTCThe irony of someone going by Chuck Bass saying Dean isn't toxic and abusive XD Dean is scary-similar to my abusive ex, and every time I rewatch the series I see more and more red flags that are completely ignored by the show.

2021-07-15 18:26:03 +0000 UTCLoving somebody out of your league doesn't excuse this toxic behavior though. And I didnt say everything was his fault, I said he manipulates her, intentionally or not, and making her feel like most of the times its her fault. He does this when they're together and even when they're not. Yelling at her in front of Paris when he sees Jess at her place because he couldn't stay away from her for 1 night even when she asked him to? She should have broken up with him right there. And then by her dorm, not calling her back for several days and shutting her out cause Jess decided to pop over? Neither of those were her fault, but his reactions make her feel like she has to apologize. That is borderline abusive and definitely not the average bf imo. And I'm actually not the biggest fan of Luke in relationships either tbh.

2021-07-15 17:02:25 +0000 UTC@PamPam I do not concur with most of your statements. You make Dean out to be an abusive/toxic boyfriend. based on your comment every relationship problem they have is somehow solely Dean's fault and intentional. He seems like an average bf to me. I think that was the problem with their relationship. Dean's a regular Joe and Rory was raised to think that she was extraordinary. Dean put Rory on a pedestal and Rory was never sure how to respond to such admiration. Which makes sense bc her mother has the exact same problem. Dean is exactly like Luke - a regular joe who loves a seemingly extraordinary girl. Luke puts Lorelai on the exact same pedestal as Dean. In fact, Luke walks around in fear that he doesn't deserve Lorelai and fearing that Lorelai will leave him. The parallels between Luke and Dean are damning. They both love women that they fear are too good for them.

2021-07-15 15:35:28 +0000 UTCI agree. Dean is the guy who thinks he is a nice guy but isn't really. He has control and anger issues. He was my least favorite of all the guys Rory was with.

2021-07-15 10:49:10 +0000 UTCDean is the worst, I feel like Rory's feelings are manipulated by him a lot . He says he doesn't wanna yell at her, but he yells at her all the time. I think the only time Rory really cared about him was in the first few months of their relationship, then he basically made her say I love you after only 3 months lets not forget, always wanted to be the number 1 priority in her life, even got upset about harvard, then he calls her back after spring break which was very unnecessary, he shows up when she calls him after her bad date to pick her up, gets furious about Jess showing up, then being shit to her and ignoring her for days just to later say "i dont like him cause he doesnt treat you right". All while being married. Like he treats her right? And like he has the right to be upset about anything regarding her? in what universe? Then telling her its not working with Lindsay to get her to be with him again, just to not do anything about his marriage problem even after he got her to sleep with him. Waiting til Lindsay finds the letter and then having the audacity to sag things like "im sorry, okay? can we move on? can we get past this?". The fuck bro, you just cheated. He is manipulative and emotionally abusive, very toxic as a partner. The fact that at the end of the episode when Rory asked him about Lindsay she had to say "you won't get mad?" shows evrrything about their relationship, he has proper anger issues and she kinda has to watch what she says at all times as to not upset him. I think Rory only wanted him back now cause she was regretting dumping him for Jess after he left and was jealous that Dean had somebody else. She just loves how much Dean loves her but I don't think there is love or passion on her side. And well now she's just horny.

2021-07-15 09:50:14 +0000 UTCRory and Dean are proof that sex with your ex just doesn't work. They both have outgrown their relationship. They are in totally different places in their lives and this whole divorce thing hanging over their heads is not helping either. So no, I wasn't a fan.

2021-07-15 08:13:07 +0000 UTCYeah I don't like Rory and Dean's thing either, it really isn't it! I actually do like Lane's story, it's awkward and random but lowkey sweet.. Though I know a lot of people don't like it lol. I also HATE Taylor, he is soo annoying and selfish, sometimes I like to believe he doesn't exitst lmaoo

2021-07-15 04:19:45 +0000 UTCI can’t stand Taylor. I really hate that character. He nit picks as a form of control. He has to have control over everyone and anything he can. I don’t really have a problem with Dean and Rory dating again. People move on after divorce and you can’t just worry about other people’s feelings forever. I do think Dean needs to get his life together. Get his own place or go to school. Something. Although the other issue is proximity. They would have had this issue if they stayed together through high school. When they were still dating in high school, I remember Dean wondering if they would be able to stay together once they both went away to different colleges. This is honestly just a different version of that just with the inconvenience of the affair with Dean.

2021-07-15 04:10:08 +0000 UTCI'll say it one last time.... I. HATE. TAYLOR!!! Six inches?! Six little inches?! Jackson was so sweet too when he offered to make a deal with Taylor to sell him tomatoes year round, and once again Taylor proves how unbelievably petty he is! Six inches?! I can't even feel bad for him when he loses, because he not only has had this coming for years, but any sympathy I might of mustered for him went away when he made that speech after he lost. He's really self-serving as a TOWN selectman. Your supposed to work for the people of the town, but he goes out of his way to be as difficult as possible, so it's no wonder people have had it with him. Anyway, I'll stop ranting about Taylor and go over the rest of the episode. Dean.......Yep, I got nothing good to say there! The scene of Rory at his house was awkward as fuck! Does she really expect the parents to be happy about this? The little sister I can relate to! Avril Lavigne was my shit in school! XD The car incident (I refuse to call it anything else!) was just embarrassing to watch, but the way he yelled at her when she's only trying to offer a suggestion. She wasn't doing it as a "fuck you, Lindsay" she just thought it'd be a fun date for them. I don't like that Rory helped him cheat on his wife, but she really didn't deserve to be yelled at like that. The Luke/Lorelai stuff. The first scene I think Lorelai should of shut up, ate the food THEN asked if the next day they could eat at Luke's. Not a big deal, but just something I thought I'd mention. She does take some liberties this episode when she takes over his diner without asking once again then she wakes his poor ass up to celebrate forgetting he goes to bed early, so he can get up at the crack of dawn to run his business. Bit selfish of her, but I know she didn't mean any harm by it. Paris is hilarious. I feel so bad for laughing, but the printing press is ridiculous! XD RIP Asher, may you be less of a creep in the afterlife! Stick to women your own age! XD Lane. The band's performance was awesome, she looks so happy on stage and really confident, which I love seeing. I like to think her mom was watching her without us knowing. Wishfull thinking I am sure!
