I loved this one so much. The ending where Clara is old and needs help with pulling apart the Christmas cracker makes me cry. It mirrors so well Eleven and when he is old an gray and he needs her help to pull his apart just before things end for him. I actually like that Clara is still with us because if the Doctor just got a new companion it wouldn't have felt like a good transition. Clara's story with the Doctor can't end on such a sour note like it had.

I love the back and forth between Nick Frost and Peter Capaldi, and the actress who I think was from Game of Thrones, her back and forth with Nick was funny as well as the dancing scene. I also loved the ending because you could tell that Clara was supposed to be gone, that the part with her being older was supposed to be the ending, but that it was changed, I just liked how excited they seemed when she was taking his hand and they were running to the Tardis, I enjoyed the ending.

2021-07-14 07:55:49 +0000 UTCI was so pissed off that the actress that played Clara straight up chainged her mind and they rewrote the ending. I was so ready for a new companion at this point back in 2014. I could tell the episode was rewritten, and if this was the end of Clara it would have been a beautiful ending. But Season 9 turned out absolutley amazing, every episode is consistently very very good with what is in my opinion the single best episode in Modern Who history.

(Not saying they were bad) The ending for this episode was originally Clara's departure. The ending where the doctor arrived late was going to be her departure. She decided to stay after the script readthrough for this episode, thus it got changed and she stayed on for the next season. Season 9 has a really special heart in my place and I am really looking forward to watching it with you
