The Vampire Diaries "The Originals" 4x20 Reaction

There are actually some parts that crossover, at least from TVD to The Originals, I don't think it happens the other way around. But some stuff that happens in TVD later on extends beyond Mystic Falls.

i think you will like the originals more. the high school melodrama stuff that annoys you on tvd doesn't really exist on the originals because the characters are all adults. you also seem to enjoy the original family, and since the show centers around them...i think you're really going to love it.

The show alludes to a past relationship between Klaus and Marcel b/c they knew each other. This will be expanded upon. This has to do with "why Klaus didn't just kill Marcel" and why Marcel was able to act the way he was with Klaus. Also, Elijah acts the way he does because he is the family above ALL type. That's why he says "family is power" to Klaus and "always and forever". Anyway, so EXCITED for you to react to the Originals. I don't watch vampire diaries but I love the originals. The characters are soo great - Klaus, Elijah, Marcel, Haley, Cami, Rebecca.

Also just to clarify why Jane-Anne was willing to get killed over just confirming Hayley's pregnancy: it is a VERY big deal when the most powerful immortal being on the planet is able to procreate. His child is gonna be the most powerful kid. That also highly affects the witches since they don't know which powers Klaus's child could inherit. It was too important to not figure out.

A lot of people think that "The Originals" is actually a better show than "The Vampire Diaries". I personally just think they're shows with different vibes. TO is much darker and more focused on the family than the romance (not that TO doesn't have romance). I think both shows have its appeal and are really good.

I think it makes the most sense to do a double drop of both Vampire Diaries and The Originals, as the spinoff starts airing when S5 of Vampire Diaries starts.

Finally! I have been waiting forever for this. So next up we start The Originals, you are totally gonna love that show. The Originals 1x1 and this episode Vampire 4x20 are mostly the same episode. This is basically 80% Originals 20% TVD scenes involivng Kathrene and Elena. Originals 1x1 is 70% scenes from this episode 30% extended versions and other POV's. But they both end on the same story beat. We wont get into the fresh meat of the show till Originals 1x2. For this reason im hoping you get to the next 2 episodes of Originals quickly, the wait will kill me if you alternate between them the wait will be a month :P If you ever considered a double drop in the coming weeks Originals 1x1 and 1x2 is the one! The shows dont have an order to watch like Angel/Buffy. They dont really interconnect on a story level. People have watched Originals without ever seing a single TVD episode and had no problems. Marcel knows Klaus very well, but he knows the old Klaus. He kinda expected to be praised by him, seeing as how he kept saying "Just like you taught me." multiple times. Like other commenters say Klaus seemed to react weird to him. Now the vampire politics game starts. He cant just kill Marcel, too many questions. What is the secret weapon that lets him control the witches? Everyone respects him, he cant just slaughter hundreds of loyal vampires that wont follow him. Its a great show, youl love it.

Haha true time for The Originals

Well you have to remember that of the Originals Elijah was always supposedly the “moral” one because he was soo idealistic before being a vampire and all those good qualities such as loyalty, honor etc. were all heightened. And in this episode they clearly stated that Elijah has constantly throughout time been seeking Klaus’s redemption and thus is trying to use the baby as a way to be a family once more and to help klaus see that he can be better. Also with the katherina and Elijah departing ways is meant to show the audience that even though he loves her, his quest to unify his family and help klaus be better is more important. This was a display of sacrifice and also it illustrates Elijahs character as a person, how selfless he is.

Marcel took a gamble with Klaus there because of the relationship they have with each other, which is clearly a close one. I don't think he expected Klaus to react in that way. He might have even expected Klaus to be impressed or proud.
