When Luke said Dean broke her heart itβs referring to season 1 when Dean had a hissyfit and broke up with Rory because she didnβt say I love you back to him. There were red flags with Dean from pretty early on.

2022-02-25 08:17:14 +0000 UTCNo no, don't show your niece the 1988 Pippi. Show her the one from the show. I love the original. The English dubbing and the Swedish countryside. It's so fun. The books are great too. I read them a lot when I was kid. Luke is still remembering the very first break up when Dean said I love you and Rory didn't. He never actually knew the circumstances of the Dean/Rory/Jess triangle. Remember he was surprised to find out Rory and Jess were dating. So Luke doesn't know that Rory also isn't all sunshine and flowers in her history with Dean. Like Loreli said he doesn't know all the facts.

2021-07-21 09:42:17 +0000 UTCI think what Luke is referring to with the "long time ago" stuff are the times and reasons Dean broke up with Rory - the first time bc she wasn't ready to say I love you and the second time in front of the whole town. And I personally think that I don't blame Dean alone for him and Rory not working out in the past, but they just want entirely different things from a relationship. Granted, Luke also said that Jess wasn't good enough for Rory either, so he was not being biased. I have to agree with Luke though that Rory wants to see the world and have adventures and discover new things and Dean is just not the right guy for that. What they said at the end of the episode is really why I think they can't work out - they are trying to recreate what they once had when they were 15 and Rory has just evolved since then and needs different things from a partner now. Was it fair from Luke to treat Dean like that? Of course not. But I understand why he thinks Dean and Rory are no match for each other.

2021-07-21 05:16:44 +0000 UTCI think Luke is still stuck at Rory's and Dean's first breakup, when he said ily and she didn't... he never really learned the whole truth about the situation, he just thought that Dean was a jerk to Rory. Luke also didn't like the fact that the night before his wedding, Dean was still talking about Rory. He just has kinda a bad picture of Dean overall! I do think the situation between Rory and Dean rn is not okay, I do not like them together after the fact he cheated on his wife with her but meh I am kinda indifferent when it comes to thinking where their relationship may or may not go, I just really don't care cuz I lost respect for both of them lol
