Steven taking off his headphones so he wouldn't have to hear the awkwardness of the gift giving was the most relatable thing ever. Still not a fan of using April as a plot device to break up LL. This is my 100th rewatch and the 1st time ever I'm not seeing April as evil. She's a sweet kid and I think she would have blended in really well with Lorelai and especially Rory. She's the only one who would love a Rory tour of Yale. And from what we've seen so far Anna seems like she has some Lorelai energy, too. I think they wouldn't have been BFFs but they would have been friendly for sure. Instead they're making it as awkward as possible and it's just painful to watch

But you can see that this is about to reach a breaking point where he truly has to choose a path for himself, even if that's not easy. But what this episode also showed is how much Logan respects and values Rory. He invited Luke and Lorelai even though he only planned a romantic weekend with his girlfriend, he is extra nice to Luke and tries really hard to impress them, but you can also see (in the way they share the paper over coffee and other little things) that Rory and Logan are truly a great match.

2022-05-19 20:02:49 +0000 UTCi think we were suppose to feel bad for logan when his dad was yelling at him but...if what his dad said is true and logan didn't show up to work at a function he promised he'd be at and left a bunch of people waiting for him...then yikes. he is kind of at fault here. and this is ultimately my biggest issue with logan as a character. he is spoiled and privileged and wants to live a life of luxury without doing any of the work. these traits make it really hard for me to like him.

She is used to drive a wedge between Luke and Lorelai and changing Luke to achieve this goal. They bought in Jess to also bring conflict between the two and it worked…because it felt realistic…this isn’t. You are right about Logan…he isn’t capable of making it on his own. He wants the luxuries in life but doesn’t want to work for it. He really is a man child.

2022-03-04 01:56:07 +0000 UTCand Logan likes to use his parents house and mony, but he really doesn’t want to work for it, he was suppost to work that weekend!

2022-03-02 04:10:35 +0000 UTCLuke is at his core a loner, and he is set in his ways, and this is his problem with relashionships and has always been. And loreleis problem is that she is so insecure, and this episode showes that really well!

2022-03-02 04:08:13 +0000 UTCYeah like my dad always told me “be with someone someone who uses each day as an opportunity to make you feel loved and secure and do the same for them. That makes Valentine’s Day just an elevated version of everyday.” I mean right now I’d be questioning whether Luke loves me or not too. He won’t even let her be around his daughter…. I mean April seems like the most well adjusted kid and Lorelei raised a daughter that’s similar to April. It’s not like April has some emotional issues and Lorelei doesn’t like kids… it’s so weird

Plus, the getaway made it even easier to contrast how Lorelei's 21-year-old daughter and her playboy boyfriend seem to have more of a secure/comfortable relationship than Lorelei,/Luke (though we see at the end that, of course, there are communication issues underneath theirs, too).

2022-03-01 18:00:12 +0000 UTCDeep down most ppl want to feel acknowledged on Valentine’s Day even if we act like we don’t. And while you’re single you pretend you don’t care because it’s easier than being sad

2022-03-01 13:34:21 +0000 UTCSo here’s my thought abt why Lorelei is upset about V-day. I feel like it’s easy to excuse away the feeling that your partner isn’t prioritizing you in everyday life but when those times come around that they have the opportunity to show they care and they don’t it feels like a huge red flag.

2022-03-01 13:33:11 +0000 UTCI think she was interested in Valentines Day now because she feels Luke slipping away. If she was still confident in her relationship she probably wouldn't care as much.

2022-03-01 12:41:47 +0000 UTCI felt so bad for Lorelai. Luke's negativity was painful to watch. I never understood the postponement. It's not like he was really involved with the planning and it was still 4-6 months away.

2022-03-01 12:39:56 +0000 UTCThis season has a lot of really great moments, especially acting-wise, but it's a hard one to get through. Every time I get to this season in a rewatch I always brace myself for the pain.
