2022-03-09 00:37:28 +0000 UTCSo in the beginning of the ep there was a scene between young Esther and Dalia. Esther was pleading with dalia to help her with baring a child. I believe you missed the part where Dalia accepted Esther's request but said there qould be a huge sacrifice for such a thing. That sacrifice is the first born of every new generation and if that sacrifice isn't made then all of her kids would die.

2022-03-08 10:03:57 +0000 UTCSo what Klaus' father said about lingering on the other side and then being able to come back to life is related to what was happening in the Vampire Diaries with Bonnie and the stuff with the veil from the other side coming down and how a bunch of supernaturals came back to live. You have to remember that the two were airing at the same time. You will understand more about Dahlia (Esther's sister) as the episodes go on. Basically, Esther made a deal with her without knowing exactly what it would be like. Honestly, I don't like Esther and though she had reasons for doing stuff, she is just so delusional and also such a hypocrite, she highkey annoys me. Also yes! I love The Originals so much more than the Vampire Diaries as well! it's amazing

Elijah actually tells Elena in TVD Season 2 (episode 19) that his “mother bore seven children.” Esther did make a deal/sacrifice with Dahlia so she can have children.
