Fun Fact: The young Evan in this went on a few years later to play the young high school age version of Sam on Supernatural.

Its a decent ep, not that bad tbh. The whole lana being oblivious to clark doing some miraculous shit was funny af tho. Like really??

Yeah I agree this episode doesn't really work. The idea of a child aging rapidly is an interesting/sad concept, but the Lana and Clark "bonding as parents" aspect feels forced. I think this episode falls particularly flat because we've already had a "Clark bonding with a super-powered orphan who is doomed to die" episode with Ryan. That episode really hit and it kinda feels like the writers are recycling the concept here. I get that the writers wanted Lana and Clark to bond again but I think it might have worked better if Clark and Lana had just found a normal baby, went through normal parental struggles, like struggling with all the added responsibility, slack of sleep and personal sacrifices for the good of the child. Even better if they had argued over how to raise the child like a normal couple would. And in the end they could have found the baby's real parents and had to give him back. Working through those struggles together and experiencing the pain of giving up the baby would have re-cemented their bond. But perhaps that's already a TV trope, and the writers were trying to avoid that , I dunno. Anyway I agree with JustRushOnce, I think you'll enjoy Season 5 more.

This is a skippable episode for me.

Not the best episode. It was clearly trying to build up Lana and Clark's relationship by having them go through something like this. It gave us a hint at Lex being darker, lying to Clark. The only real plot progression is about the stones and yeah it's not the best plot. I think season 5 will be more enjoyable for you since it has more iconic and better received episodes than season 4. The plot is better imo too (except for a few things because only a few shows are perfect).
