Peyton lost her mom when she was 8 years old. And I didn't think Peyton was ruining the party for everyone. everyone was having a grand old time. She went because Brooke asked her to DJ for the party, and she didn't want to flake on her. I'm glad Peyton isn't shutting everyone out like she usually does. Her friends want her there and she's there - that's what is important. It makes total sense that Lucas is rooting for Nathan to forgive Haley. Lucas was there for him through everything, which is where Lucas’ frustration is coming from. I disagree with Lucas that Nathan should forgive her now, but I agree with them that treating him and Haley like crap isn’t going to fix anything. He has been a total jackass for no reason and it’s absolutely frustrating and not to mention annoying. At the end of the day, Lucas knows that Nathan loves Haley, so from his point of view, she’s back, which is all that Nathan has ever wanted. I think the point is Nathan has had a lot of time - 3 months worth really, and him and Haley are actually really due for a talk. He’s hurting, but he shouldn’t be avoiding her and he shouldn’t be so mean to Lucas.

2022-03-29 07:41:37 +0000 UTCSo here's what I think about Lucas's scene with Nathan: Lucas never had his heart truly broken. Even in his love triangle he was the one breaking hearts. So he understands that Nathan is hurt, but he wants him to also see that Haley is trying to fight for their marriage now (yes admittedly a bit late) and that he recognises that. But Nathan as he said to Haley on the beach is still too hurt and angry to appreciate her efforts now. Both Nathan and Haley need to figure out where they stand now and what they want. I feel like Nathan's and Haley's scene at the beach stated pretty clear where both of them stand: Nathan is not sure and wants to concentrate on basketball for now and see how it goes. Haley wants to fight for their marriage and wants to show him that - as she said in the end, she's not going anywhere. She is gonna stay and fight this time. So yes, Haley was unsure and yes she did send him away when he went to see her on tour, but she knows what she wants now and she's fighting for it, which I think is a good effort and she needs to earn Nathan's trust back.

2022-03-16 23:18:35 +0000 UTCNathan has deep parental trauma aswell, don’t forget! And haley was the one who got him out of that, the new family, so it is not quite the contrast you make it out to be!

2022-03-15 13:32:00 +0000 UTCWhy is it not OK for Peyton to act this way since she's had to to deal with a parents death at a young age, an absent father, a boyfriend who didn't give a shit, a friend that is more involved with herself up until now, finding out she was adopted just recently and the reappearance of her birth mother who gave her up because she was a drug addict, falling in love with a guy who had to leave her which she has extreme emotional trauma about, plus someone sending her dodgy emails and chat messages (and a reminder this is around the time when people were sharing more of their lives on the internet and not realising the consequences) ...but it's OK for Nathan to act like a dick to everyone around him because his teenage wife left him to pursue her dreams at, what, 17/18 years old. 🤷🏻♀️

2022-03-15 10:33:35 +0000 UTCPayton does have some of the funniest moments for me this episode. Her quips at Haley and the song choices at the party crack me up every time. It's badass Payton for me :)

2022-03-15 08:28:36 +0000 UTCI think Nathan being asshole Nathan to Lucas and Haley by ignoring her vs how he was at the end by having a honest conversation about where he's at right now fits perfectly with his character and how he's evolving. He was hurt so he's handling it like his old self but he's not that person anymore so we get glimpses of that too.

2022-03-15 06:37:54 +0000 UTCI'm team Haley in the sense of getting what we got at the end. Haley screwed up big time but she is trying to make things better and the way things left off before he went to basketball camp was kind of in limbo. He was very stand offish to her but wasn't fighting for a divorce. He also didn't want to be with her. I think what Lucas said was great. What Nathan was doing was simply to hurt Haley. He either needed to forgive her or at least talk to her like he ended up doing with dignity and saying 'I'm not willing to work this out right now. I may never be.' But as Haley touched on, this is a small town. They are going to be in school together, they share the same group of friends, they will be at parties and events together. At the very least they need to learn to co-exist and be around each other.

2022-03-15 06:03:00 +0000 UTCI agree. Nathan asked Haley to marry him because he was looking for an instant family since his sucked. Yes, he loved her, but there was no other reason that they couldn't have married later. Haley was running away from his expectations and her marriage (her very spur of the moment decision) and to music, something she had dreamed of and something that seemed safer. She was scared. Haley was questioning them getting married from the beginning of season 2 ("We made a mistake, Nathan.") so her doing it later was just more of this. I mean they were 16. Cut the girl some slack on being smart enough to realize they got married too early lol. She didn't mean to hurt Nathan. She just didn't know what she wanted or what she wanted to do. It wasn't like we didn't see her struggle with the situation some. She is allowed to change her mind. It started with all or nothing from Nathan, then switched to Haley. Neither one was equipped to handle this situation. Did anyone think them getting married at 16, before they knew who they were was a good idea? I'm on both sides because this situation is realistic due to their circumstances. I think this storyline is being handled perfectly.

2022-03-15 05:35:32 +0000 UTCI'm not on anyone's side with Haley and Nathan, I never cared about them too too much tbh. I knew that they were going to get back together eventually so it didn't matter to me. Their relationship also moved at the speed of light in the beginning so the writers had to do something to make it interesting. Of course Haley has done wrong and she is not being off lightly by anyone but Lucas really. This is what she has to endure to show Nathan and the audience that she can be trusted again. I was way more into the love triangle lol. I love Peyton, she is my absolute favorite but she is probably one of the saddest tv characters. Just a constant trauma conga for that girl. I wasn't initially a fan of Brooke's but I understand her. If you understand that everything that she does comes from a place of hurt and not wanting to be hurt her actions make perfect sense. Lucas scares her to death. He was the first boy that she let into her heart and he was the first boy to ever break her heart. She is so afraid of being hurt but also so into him that she is only willing to be with him on her terms right now. At the end of the day though she just wants him to fight for her. I'm glad that Lucas finally admitted that he is not the fling type of guy. I wish he had said that instead of what he did but he stopped moping around at least. I think season three is definitely one of my favorites behind season four which is the best.

2022-03-15 05:12:53 +0000 UTCI don't know. On one hand, Haley could have DEFINITELY handled this better. Weirded out by the whole Chris Keller thing but I always saw it as her being interested in being a musician. She never showed any real interest in him. I also totally get why Nathan is hurt and is pushing her away. But c'mon...why did it have to be an ultimatum? She could have gone on tour, he could've done his basketball thing and they could have met in the middle. They're married not dead. They still need to live their lives. I feel like this whole breakup thing came from a place of insecurity. They could have supported each other going for their dreams and still be married. Why did they have to give anything up? They're young. They have the world to conquer. They should conquer it together, not apart.

2022-03-15 04:19:22 +0000 UTCdefinitely on nathan’s side. if my partner especially HUSBAND did what haley did to me i wouldn’t even talk to them again when they came back. peyton yea i feel bad for her sometimes but idk i never really liked her character except in season 4 a little so she annoys me a lot. i’m a big brooke stan so i’m gonna defend her always lmao but yes as long as she’s not doing dumb stuff she’s fine. she’s allowed to see and flirt with whoever she wants
