Damon thought Bonnie was dead because the prison world was made specifically for Kai, so if Bonnie died there she wouldn't come back to life like he does.

So it's absolutely not surprising and expected for you to be done with it also, actually you seem to be stomaching it way better than some of the fans did lol. Elena kinda became a secondary character at this point, because other storylines are so much more interesting, but I really like that, cause if the writers were always super focused on making Elenas storyline a priority we wouldn't have all this cool stuff taking over. Other characters deserve some attention and interesting scripts too.

2022-03-22 05:00:00 +0000 UTCThe writers didn’t know what to do with Elena once she became a Vampire..it complicated everything since they already had a great vampire in Katherine so they made a boring opposite Vampire for Elena it seemed..also it didn’t help that the actors playing Elena and Damon dated in real life and broke up around season 5 ..which made things awkward

I just feel the writers got creatively blocked with her character and didn't know what to do with her by Season 5. I also dislike that she has no other purpose in this show other than be loved or in love with one of the Salvatore brothers by season 5. After Klaus left and the doppleganger storyline was played to death, it sort of fizzled out her character development for me. Truthfully, it shows the writers faults/mis-write/mistakes in writing a main character who's main purpose is to be a damsel, love interest and conduit for spells. She has no personal mission unless it's tied to those of the supporting characters. Same thing happened to Isabella Swan in Twilight, who outgrew the interesting story lines of her supporting characters. Idk I just felt they could've gave a way more intriguing storyline that would advance her personality
