Just wanted to mention that it's not always so easy to break away from an abusive relationship, especially from one's parent. Jamie has been physically and emotionally abused by his dad since he was a child — that fear of his dad and being beaten down (literally) is so deeply rooted that no matter how much bigger and stronger Jamie is now, he reverts back into that little kid when his father confronts him. You can see how far the effects of that go, too, back in episode 6. When Ted is yelling in his face with that practice speech, Jamie just shuts down, because he's learned that being silent and motionless in front of a pissed-off male authority figure means there's a better chance the abuse will be less. It doesn't matter that Ted would never abuse him; it's innate. As outsiders, what Jamie should do seems simple but the reality isn't, either for Jamie or for people in real life, and saying things like "Jamie's an adult, he should kick his dad to the curb" gets pretty dang close to victim-blaming. Also, Jamie's only 23, so while yes he's an adult, he's still quite young and impressionable. Not to mention at the moment he has no support system whatsoever. He might have had if he were allowed to stay with Richmond, but instead, he got sent back to Manchester — where his dad is, no less — so he's all alone. As Ted would say, be curious, not judgmental. Give Jamie time.
