this pilot is one of the best ever! this one and the glee one are some of the best pilots i've seen on tv! (at least from this 2010 era of shows)

2022-04-01 13:18:52 +0000 UTCThere have been a few shows shot in this style. The "interviews" and the little 4th wall breaks were popular in the later 2000's. This show and The Office are the 2 best in my opinion. All the characters are awesome and hysterical in their own way. What I love most about this show are the little heartwarming moments and messages at the end of each episode which tie it together. I think you'll love this show!

As for the "documentary" aspect -- talking directly to the camera -- I would just say "Don't worry about it, just go with it." This style has become a new stylistic way of presenting some sitcoms, as just a device to set a situation up quickly without having to do it "realistically" in dialogue, so we can jump right to the funny stuff.
