When they are speaking a different language and there are subtitles you should read them because you will miss important information like explained in the other comment. Lexa is the first leader to really unite all the grounders. Her background story comes in bits and pieces throughout

2022-04-01 00:32:37 +0000 UTCI liked this episode, I'm a fan of Lexa. Their was some dialogue you missed near the beginning of the episode that was with Gustus and Lexa. It basically said Lexa united the 12 tribes of grounders, that they had a coalition and that is was shaky, that Lexa was the coalition and if anything happened to her it would fail. That's why Gustus was so worried about Lexa working with Clark and why he tried to end the alliance. Also, I don't think Lexa is as shutdown as she says she is because she hesitated to kill Gustus and he had to tell her to "be strong" in order for her to kill him.
