That's the frustrating part. The solution is going through with the actual marriage but Luke is holding that up. I get that he wants to have time to get to know her himself, but I feel like they could still make that happen if they got married. It's not like April would be there full time. She doesn't stay with him at this point anyways. He could still have his own time with her.

2022-04-04 16:42:33 +0000 UTCI fully agree with every opinion you have about the things, except Rory yelling at Mitchum about him being a crappy father I really don't think it was her place as well and the fact that we didn't get his immediate reaction on the phone just felt like a cheap resolution to a "cool idea"

2022-04-04 13:22:43 +0000 UTCThat's beautiful. I think blended families can be so precious. My favorite vlogger (Jesssfam) is the proud mom of 5 bio kids and 2 bonus kids. She never treats her stepsons as anything other than her children (except when it comes to custody and some discipline; she leaves that to her husband and the children's mother). She is also best friends with her ex's wife, and her ex is best friends with her husband, making things amazing for her eldest child as all her parents love one another. I got off on a tangent there, but I just completely agree that there's no such thing as too much love. As Phoebe Buffay brought to our attention way back in 1994 when it came to Ben. How she barely had parents, but here was this baby who wasn't even born yet and already had three people fighting over who could love him the most. 💗

2022-04-04 06:36:30 +0000 UTCI know it’s different bc I grew up with both parents until I was 13. But my dad introduced me to his gf (now my stepmom) fairly quick. At the time my mom was upset. She hated her but she passed when in 2013 when I was 15. When my dad wanted to propose a few years later he asked me how I felt about it. It was difficult for me for a while. My parents marriage was not great. They were together for 18 years but I don’t have a single memory of feeling like they were in love. They fought a lot. I was always number 1 to him. I realized I wasn’t going to live with him forever and he DESERVED to be loved. In 2015 they got married. She has two daughters exactly the same age as my brother and I. Now me and my brother have a better relationship with her than my stepsisters. She told my dad the other day how crazy it was that his kids are more loving that her own. It took 10 whole years but in the past year I think of her like a mom. Extra love never harms a child

2022-04-03 10:16:29 +0000 UTCI actually understand aprils mom here, and if they just give it some time I’am sure she would let lorelei in, especially if they GET MARRIED. there is no reason for them not to get married now, except Luke! love these reactions and your thoughts!

2022-04-02 18:21:55 +0000 UTCYup, I've been very guilty of not communicating. Once you communicate there's likely to be a resolution but there's always that fear that it'll be a resolution that you don't want. In this situation for the show, she could be fearing the end of the relationship if she says anything.

2022-04-02 12:37:06 +0000 UTCYep for once Lorelai is not self sabotaging her relationships its mostly on Luke, im surprised she has not confronted Luke on any of this but as you said previously it is a realistic response, a lot of people dont communicate.

2022-04-02 09:22:27 +0000 UTCI kinda agree with you with the party thing. It would have been way less appropriate for Luke to be alone with a bunch of 13 year old girls doing a slumber party. I personally wouldn't let my child stay if that was the case. Knowing there was a female adult present like Lorelai it is much better/appropriate. I get where April's mom is coming from. Yes the fact that she doesn't know Lorelai is a big deal, she should at least know who is spending time with her kid. Not to mention, if something were to happen with any of the kids it would fall on her so she should have soms knowledge of who is around. But it is true what you said, if she trusts Luke she should trust in Luke's choices in the people he has around him.. if that makes sense(?)
