But Dawson's Creek is a show that for years I looked to find people reacting to and no one ever was. So glad you are reacting to it. I do find these comments interesting because I see a lot of S2/3 love but to me, 1+5+6 have always been my favorite seasons so I am excited to watch this journey unfold. Thank you for reacting to this show.

2022-04-13 02:20:54 +0000 UTCI wasn't sure if you'd like this. It's very 90's teen you know? It's definitely nostalgic for those of us that were teens at this time. The show feels so wholesome to me too. It takes me right back to the feeling of being a teen in that time again like nothing else. Man...the end when Joey is upset and crying because she feels distance from Dawson and then he leans out the window and answers her previous question...so good. I remember being that age and everything felt like a big deal and the end of the world. Yeah, the Pacy/teacher kiss. That was bad back then...but it was a different time with that stuff. Had the genders been reversed it would have not been viewed the same. It would have seemed way worse to the audience. However, back then...guys with a teacher like that was seen as....I don't know how to say it....cool? Now, obviously, it isn't, but sexuality was viewed a bit different then. Like others have said, season 2 picks up and season 3 is probably the peak of the show for a lot of people.

On the Drama Queens podcast (ran by the female stars of OTH), Hilarie has said that OTH was supposed to be very different, as were all the characters, but The OC started first and became really popular, so the writers changed everything to make OTH more sexual and dramatic.

2022-04-12 04:08:54 +0000 UTCYou mentioned at both the start of your reaction and near the end of this reaction for Dawson's Creek about if we were interested in you returning to the One Tree Hill reactions. If you can make time for it I think you should. I personally think Season 3 and Season 4 of One Tree Hill are the best seasons of the show. Season 3 of One Tree Hill started off slow but Steven is just about to get into the best part of the season (the first few episodes of Season 3 start off slow but really the second half on Season 3 into next season is just so good in how it flows together which is better then the flow of Season 1 and Season 2 in my opinion). Dawson's Creek and One Tree Hill have some similarities in terms of how the main characters are very much focused on their interest (Dawson is focused on directing while Nathan and Lucas are focused on Basketball), they both are set in a small town (Dawson's Creek and One Tree Hill actually filmed in the same town One Tree Hill started shooting there a few months after Dawson's Creek finished filming their series), and there are a few other similarities. At the same time I do feel like Dawson's Creek has more drama (One Tree Hill is a drama but there is always some funny/light hearted moments mixed in). Also I feel like you will find out certain things that happen on Dawson's Creek didn't age well (won't give away spoilers but will just say certain behavior/situations that happened in the show didn't age well). Overall though Dawson's Creek is a really good series and is one of my favorite shows.
