2022-04-19 18:00:52 +0000 UTCI don't understand the thing about expectations with you. Whenever a show doesn't go into a direction you wanted or imagined, you get upset. Just enjoy the ride. I mean why did you expect Aquamen to be annoying? Because of other shows? Remember that this show does not follow the lore all that closely (not that I would know) but damn man, don't nitpick every single thing about this show, just enjoy the ride. Regarding James Master's character, you can't expect all the answers In the first episode he is in. Actually if you think about it's better if we know he is not human since we know something is fishy but we don't know what. The mystery is still there but if the show didn't reveal anything about him and we saw him turn on Clark out of a sudden or something, there would have been even more confusion and you would probably get upset about that as well. Small info each episode revealing who he is, is cool to me. Anyway these are just my ramblings. And if I can give you one small advice, don't compare Smallville with other shows since this one is kinda the pioneer of this kind of superhero origin story and what comes after took a lot of pages from this show. Just enjoy the ride, it would be boring if all shows follow the exact same script as the comics or source material

2022-04-19 11:12:55 +0000 UTCBRAH lol for last 4 seasons we've seen Lex's curiosity in various ways. His need to understand what happened on the bridge and the obsession into clark that became. The meteor freaks showing up in smallville time and time again, and very recently in the last season the 3 relics (Stones of power) which resulted with him in the cave with clark standing in the epicenter of the light. THE GROUNDWORK FOR LEX'S OBSESSIVE NATURE HAS CERTAINLY BEEN LAID DOWN. Not to mention his father was also very much knee deep in finding out the mysteries of Clark, meteor shower, Extraterrestrial events, which hugely influenced lex so none of this is new. And regarding the money and what not, I mean he is a billionaire business tycoon with crazy good business acumen. In lex's twisted way he thinks he is doing good because he was making a deal with the US military to give them weapons to help our defense. And realistically after spending 100 MILLION DOLLARS on Research & Development most businessmen would consider some sea life dying as the cost of doing business or collateral damage so saying he became full evil because of it is highly simplifying the situation. But we are seeing Lex become more callus as clark's influence is waning. The moment where clark was telling Lex about his professor talking down about him and Lex expected clark to be in agreement with the professor but then he tells Lex he defended him was quite sad. Because you can see the facade of Lex trying to be bad because he felt clark had given up on him already only to realize that Clark still backed him, and the hurt was perfectly portrayed on his face.

If you already know that then forget this comment but until I watched this episode of Smallville I always thought he was British. His acting skillz are crazy
