Cuz they did so well developing the cast around michael thus far that they do well to carry it without him. It’ll take a min to get used to tho

And Phyllis and Erin's weird adoption thing? It's just all for the giggles. It gets a pretty goofy. I found myself kind of down with it, but I'm someone who never fully warmed to Michael.

2022-04-26 03:51:04 +0000 UTCSometime in season six, they stopped doing longer arch type narratives throughout a season, and I think it really detracts from the episodes that aren't constant laughs; which are now more common since Michael is gone. Like you said, a lack of direction. While story beats are moving forward, characters don't feel like they're growing very much.
