I love Ryan and Taylor. More than Marissa and Ryan honestly. Sheβs a breath of fresh air

2021-12-28 04:48:17 +0000 UTCI like Taylor, she kind of brightens the show up a bit, after all the drama revolving Marissa in season 3. Taylor is lighter, quirky, funny and the show feels more like it used to again. In my opinion anyway

2021-12-26 13:29:07 +0000 UTCI may get hate from people (probably not from here but general OC fandom) but I like Taylor as a person much more than I liked Marissa as a person. She's adorable and sweet. Though she does tend to get attached to people too quickly because of her mom and her past so that's all I worried about. Thinking about how she clung to Seth when he showed her any decency. Which is actually really sad.

2021-12-24 21:38:00 +0000 UTCright I feel like everyone has growth and character development in s4. I personally enjoy this season and feel some people are a little too harsh on it because of Marissa being gone. I love how you really notice seth, summer, Ryan (+ Taylor) on their path to becoming young adults

2021-12-24 06:50:26 +0000 UTCThis episode just proved to me why Season 4 is the best. We see the character development from everybody. And to answer your question: I was so up for Taylor and Ryan, they just feel more connected and real than Ryan and Marissa did. Plus, Ryan and Marissa have been broken up for quite some time before she died so this doesn't feel rushed either.

2021-12-23 21:17:37 +0000 UTCOh no you shouldn't. I prefer Ryan and Taylor to Ryan and Marissa or any other of Ryan's love interests. Mostly because she brings out a different side in him.

2021-12-23 21:14:30 +0000 UTCI totally agree with everything. To a lot of people, this season is the one they don't even wanna rewatch because Marissa isn't it and remember it being bad. Although if they did, they might have a different opinion.

2021-12-23 11:52:46 +0000 UTCSo about the fast tracking of Summer's grief and processing, I think it was to avoid repetitiveness. The past 3 episodes dealt with Ryan coming to terms with the loss of Marissa and Summer admitting that she was avoiding it. And the death still lingers around Julie, even though it was a bit less present this episode. To me, this episode was the show trying to return to a status quo. The effects of Marissa's death impacts where the characters are at but they need to return to the comedy aspect and move away from the drama of last season and the past few episodes. To go through an extended period where Summer is grieving and going through the 5 stages would feel tiresome in my opinion. Fans have already dealt with 3 weeks worth of episodes, on top of the couple months in between seasons when it was airing back around 2006. I think the show used the first 3 episodes to allow fans to grieve and process the death through Ryan and Julie. After that, it was time to set up the plot points for the rest of the season. So in a way, its an even more shortened season as we are finally out of the shadow of Marissa's death and its episode 4. I think when it came to fan reception, people had gotten tired of Ryan and Marissa by the time season 3 was going on. They were the main couple of the show and had been through so much bs and plot points that people were ready for a change and appreciated that Sadie was a change in pace. But you always did have people who said that Marissa/Ryan was the core of the show and by not having Marissa, the show is no longer the same. But me personally, I really like where the show goes from here. It's a lot less serious and drama intensive than the dean trying to get Ryan expelled, or meaningless Volchak or Johnny drama.

2021-12-23 07:53:39 +0000 UTCRyan and Taylor are seriously one of my favorite ships on The OC π₯Ί I actually really like them, so I can't wait to see what you think as it develops!

2021-12-23 05:25:50 +0000 UTCI love the character growth they have done with summer and seth being supportive of what shes passionate about is great to see. I think he left early cause he believes what she is doing is great and wants to give her space for now because he loves her. Also I'm curious to see what your opinion is on what they do with Ryan and Taylor. There has been mixed feelings among people but I personally don't hate it either! Taylor also grew on me and I really liked her this season.
