Logan's 2 years older than Rory, making him around 22- 23 at the time of the episode. It was said in season 5 (when Rory was a sophomore at Yale) in one of Logan's first appearances, that the year before (meaning season 4, Rory's Freshman year) that Logan and his friends took a gap year and sailed around in his father's yacht partying until they sank it. Also, last episode Logan mentions that he is graduating this year making him a senior (around age 22+1 because of the gap year) while Rory's a Junior (20 turning 21). As for Logan and Rory's relationship, I don't think he hates that she's not going back to school I just feel that he is annoyed that one comment made by his father changed her whole perspective on the life she was dreaming of since she was little. Obviously, Mitchum's opinion, although brutal, matters because he is the most important person in the news industry, which sucked for her. In Logan's eyes, however, he always saw his father as the disappointed controlling. As a man that planned a life step by step for him that he does not want. So when Rory told him about what his father said to her it angered him a lot. And I agree with what you said about Rory now becoming just like the other girls that Logan is used to being around and how she is losing the specialness that Logan initially saw in her. Whether or not she goes back to yale or continues learning to be a miniature version of Emily or all the rich moms Logan grew up with will really affect their relationship, not too much but will probably be some causes for arguments, as she is not the same person he fell for.

Logan is one of those guys you want to hate, but for whatever reason, you (or at least I) tend to love him. I do think the two are good for each other. The Birkin bag thing always annoyed me a little. He was trying, and that is sweet, but does Rory seem like a Birkin bag type of girl? Get her a nice, but average price laptop case. It's obviously the first thing she thought of for the bag. He was trying, but he doesn't know how to buy a present for her. Which most guys don't, so I guess the character is spot on in regard to guys that I know anyway.

2021-12-31 21:15:00 +0000 UTCLogan calls Rory Ace because it’s a journalist nickname thing, she did that article on the Life and Death Brigade and he actually likes her writing/articles. Remember how he’d read her article and talked with her about it? The show used it as a sort of juxtaposition with Dean who hadn’t really read it and had no opinion on it when Rory asked him about it. Emily is sending all those packages because she found out that Richard saw and spoke to Loreli and she didn’t know about it. You know she feels she should know everything about her life. She’s also petty and mad that Richard has been in contact with Loreli and she hasn’t. Loreli had to call him about the insurance. She acts like that’s some slight against her when we all saw that insurance meeting was terse and uncomfortable. It wasn’t some meeting to make up or anything. So now Emily feels it’s her right to see and speak to Loreli and instead of just calling and asking how she is she resorts to petty bullshit like sending all these packages to not just Loreli but her place of business and Luke’s business. It’s rude and annoying to send all that stuff to the house but just plain disrespectful to send it to both of the businesses. Especially that big ass vase urn thing to Luke’s diner! Emily has no respect. Also with Logan, he’s never had an actual girlfriend before. He’s been basically a playboy millionaire type kid. He dates girls but never been a relationship type until Rory. You can tell when she dated that other guy and he was so jealous, when she tried to stop dating him because she couldn’t do casual and he changed his dating habits to be exclusive with her, how he’s upset because he knows she loves school and knows she’s not happy not being in school and I honestly can’t imagine him just buying Birkin bags for just any of those girls he was just dating. He was thinking of Rory and wanted to get her something special. You could tell he thought it was cute she didn’t get what the bag was. Probably asked his sister what he should get someone important to him cause he said call her and she’ll explain the bag lol. And the fact he told her out right he’d told other girls he loved them and he didn’t was to be insincere with her says a lot because he could have just said it back. He’s really feeling strongly about Rory. This is all new for him.

2021-12-31 08:50:12 +0000 UTCI go back and forth on my opinion of Logan, he has a lot of redeeming qualities but there are moments I want to slap him lol. Birkin bags are ridiculously expensive, I don’t get the appeal but that’s just me 🤷🏻♀️. It seems weird that Rory doesn’t know about them since her Grandparents have money and she attended Chilton & Yale. I know Logan’s family is rich rich, but to drop that kind of money out of the blue on a girlfriend you don’t even know if you love yet (after almost a year together) is an odd choice. Emily is the reigning Queen of pettiness and I love Lorelai’s approach of not entertaining her bullshittery right now. I bet there was a similar conversation between Tori & Candy Spelling when that exact situation was happening too, who doesn’t need a gift wrapping room in your mega mansion?!? I also love that Richard brought her the dollhouse even if it wasn’t just out of the goodness of his heart. Crusty bulge is a better street name than sores and boils alley 😂😂
