I'm not going in blind for the rest of the season, because I have seen many of the music performances out of context, but this is indeed the last full episode of Season 5 I have seen. Yes, this Unique storyline should have happened a season ago. I really don't understand why they waited so long to touch on this when they have had ample opportunity to do so. And when we finally do get a actual Unique storyline, it's wedged into this mess of an episode. And it's still really not done well. Unique is a girl who wants to use the girls' bathroom. There should definitely be more pushback from Will about Sue still using he/him pronouns. I understand it's on par with her character, but the way it just goes unchecked actually drives me insane. And the fact that Will was not going to give up twerking so Unique can use the bathroom safely and conveniently is absolute insanity. I'm glad he came to his senses in the end, but... Also, the Jake storyline is just aggravating to me because it was really unnecessary? Like... sure? But also, as a fan of Jake and Marley, it felt like they just remembered that this show is still a teen drama and wrote it in just because.

2022-01-04 07:32:22 +0000 UTCThis is not one of my favorites at all but I do appreciate how you picked out the few things that was interesting about this episode. One of the things that is bothersome about Glee is the compulsion to make characters do really dumb things that do not make sense for the character progression just to move a story plot or simply because they are bored with the character or coupling. Unfortunately for Jake it was his turn. I remember the people who really loved Marley and Jake being crushed about this because it ruined any hope for their couple. I still think there are some great episodes to come this season. As someone who likes the New York scenes more because I love the OG cast, the second half of the season is enjoyable for me.
