I think Lorelai, just like Richard, has had time to process and deal and have realized that their initial reaction/response to Rory's bad decision wasn't a good one. Richard is starting to realize that his method isn't doing anything but making Rory feel comfortable enough to keep hiding from reality and Lorelai has realized that forcing Rory would have done nothing. Even if it had worked, Rory wouldn't have thrived. She wouldn't be her old self. She needs to remember and rediscover her love of learning and strive towards her education and future goals the way Rory always had before. So they've kind of switched their positions on this whole mess but I think that's pretty realistic looking at how things have been. I still agree with Lorelai.

He really isn't even allowed to make his own career/life choices, so it makes sense for his character. He wouldn't want Rory to not have the option of figuring out what she wanted to do. Also his own sister said he took a year off to sail around the world so it would be hypocritical.

2022-01-06 16:22:41 +0000 UTCI don't understand it either. Especially knowing who Rory dated before Logan. Dean breathed down her neck a lot and didn't really understand her. Jess understood her, but was terrible at communicating anything. The issue people seem to have with Logan is that he supports her dropping out of Yale. Which I don't get bc this was Rory's choice and he clearly doesn't understand it but tries to be supportive of her own choices. What is so wrong with that? He keeps bringing it up, but at the end of the day it's her choice and her life not his. For his first real relationship he is not doing bad at all.

Lots of history starting to repeat itself here with Richard and Emily trying to be Rory's parents and get a "doover". I think Loralie wanted to initially get Rory not to quit but now she see's it can't be forced or it won't work. Rory has to want to go back herself.

2022-01-06 13:45:32 +0000 UTCEmily briefly talks about what she majored in and where we went to college in season 7. She didn't go to Yale, she and Richard met there though. She did graduate but she was always gonna be a full time wife, that was the plan. Ngl, she is pretty annoying most of the time. But she is also one of my favorite characters. Not necessarily because I like her the most but because her character and choices are so weirdly bizarre and at the same time her feelings are easy to understand so I feel for her, it's weird. You can always see the heartbreak in her eyes, this is the second time Lorelai didn't tell her about her engagement. I hope you like her a bit more at the end of the show and the revival.

She needs to figure it out herself or it will mean nothing, she will have learned nothing about herself. It makes a lot of sense that Lorelei would realize that because she is Rory's mother and is thinking about what is best for her daughter and is being realistic.

I love Luke in this episode, I think that gift was really special. I wouldβve cried. I think slowly building the level of control is well depicted too. You can tell Rory is getting annoyed
