I loved the reaction to Chloe revealing she lost her virginity to guy at the Daily Planet named "Jimmy". It's such nice little name drop. Regarding Alicia, Alicia has a mental illness and thats' not something that can be "cured", but something you learn to manage. I do think she's better but she had still has problems with impulse control. Regarding the Red Kryptonite, I agree with you, it's lazy writing. But according to the rules the writers have set up, Red Kryptonite loosens your inhibitions but it can't make you do something you don't want to do. I think this is why Martha is mad. Running away was Alicia's idea, but getting married was Clark's. Deep down he so desperately wanted to be with someone who truly knew him that he was ready to rush into one of the most important and life-changing decisions a person can make in their life, and that's why she's disappointed. Overall, I enjoy Alicia, she's an interesting and complex character, and I think the actress who plays her (Sarah Carter) does a great job.

Agreed. Love her, and think she was just a teenager in this episode, not crazy like in season 3.

I love Alicia and I do think she was better. Her actions before were born out of a mental break brought on by her parents treatment, her isolation of having to keep her powers secret and not being able to connect with people and her obsession with Clark that led to her trying to kill people. Her actions now were born out of rash decision making and desperation brought on by her therapist trying to control her and force himself on her. I don't think it was really her going back to who she was before, she wasn't trying to kill or hurt anyone she was just making bad decisions.

Yah she was def better here

Alicia is my favorite of Clark's say B-Tier girlfriends. Also I believe she was better here and wasn't fully "crazy"(the obsession and killing aspect). She just made a mistake and her impulse control issue came out and she made a rash decision because of her feelings and being scared because of the Doctor.

Fuck!!!!!! I love alicia. Btw Steven i’ve noticed you’re the only guy ive ever seen dislike Red Kryptonite Clark lol. That shit was so cool when i first watched it. Seeing this unstoppable teenager without his inhibitions was always a cool character switch up for me. But man that last scene always gets me teary eyed. From the music, to the acting and knowing how greatly alicia regrets and feels sorrowful to the point when clark says “alicia wait” she just turns around and completely breaks down. Perfect scene imo

So the ending conversation with Martha is pretty controversial and people do not like it for the same reasons you were confused about it. I am sorta fine with the conversation but it's because of what I perceive the lore as. Red kryptonite in this show lowers your inhibitions. Clark's desires have fully taken over him but even when he's on red K, there are some moral boundaries that do exist. He hasn't murdered anybody for example. His worst crime is stealing, which he can always fix and then making out with Chloe. So these are not terrible things in the context of his desires are in motion and there is nothing stopping him in terms of moral values/society expectations. But in this episodes, Clark crosses Martha's moral boundary regarding marriage. Martha and Johnathan tried to instill a set of values to Clark at a young age and raise him as their child. But to see red K come into the picture and some of those values are being crossed, especially in the manner of him just wanting Alicia as a desire, is what Martha has an issue with. It's poorly explained and out of the context of the show, I'm sure they felt like they couldn't let Clark's almost marriage as a teenager pass without consequences, especially as this was a family show that parents would also watch with their kids.
