Exactly! Like summer for example in the alternate universe was alot like the old summer. You can see how much she's truly changed since the start of the show. Seth is still lonely without Ryan and Summer. Kaitlin could've changed as a person cause of Marissa so I agree with you!

2022-01-26 18:05:29 +0000 UTCI think the character changes make a lot of sense since they are BIG changes. If Marissa died in Tijuana while Kaitlin was still pretty young it might've had a different effect on her, making her focus more on school work. She is not dumb, just interested in the wrong stuff. Did they go over the top with the alternate reality? Maybe. But I guess they were paying homage to the older seasons and show how far the characters have come.

2022-01-26 11:16:23 +0000 UTCI love this episode, it's one of the most memorable in the entire series. I like the balance between the serious and silly moments, I can't help but laugh and cringe at the Che/Julie stuff but still really feel for Ryan and Taylor. And what I love most is that they went through this together and solved the problem together. Taylor reluctantly accepted that Ryan went to see Marissa, but still she followed him and was right by his side when he found out Marissa still died. Taylor knows her worth.

2022-01-26 11:10:55 +0000 UTCRyan did say good bye though, right before the letter disappeared. That blonde girl with Summer was Holly, the one that Luke cheated on Marissa with in Tijuana, which led to Marissa running off and OD. I don’t know why Summer would keep being friends with her though after that. I don’t know how it went down in TJ without Ryan though, she drove down with Ryan, Seth and Summer, but without Ryan, she would’ve gone with Luke right? I don’t know. And yes, Adam Brody’s acting was not great. He said it in The OC podcast that by season 3 and 4 he was beyond sick of doing the show and he didn’t bother putting any soul or heart in his character, didn’t bother doing more than the bare minimum. He was sooo sick and he just wanted to get it over with and it kind of shows. Seth here doesn’t at all resemble Seth from season 1, which is by far the best season of the entire show.

2022-01-26 09:15:01 +0000 UTCI personally really liked this episode! it was supposed to be comedic and over the top at points on purpose. To what you were saying, the finale is really well done in my opinion so I think you'll like the coming episodes to come. The episode before the series finale is personally one of my favorites. Also Seth and Summer already had been back together they just were doing long distance until now they are both staying here until next fall.
