I love this episode for a number of reasons. CMM playing a bad guy - as you said, he's quite good at it. Alternate reality episodes are kind of my favorite trope. They're always a lot of fun and it's good to see a world we're so familiar with turned upside down. This really reminded me of how much I adored early Season 1 Haley. They completely shrank her character in Season 2. I think that is something that happens in marriages, a couple can get lost in each other, but it did make me mourn for the old Haley. All of the parallels that they made to the pilot episode and beyond was kind of fantastic. I also love the parallel that Nathan was the first person Lucas woke up to in the hospital and now Lucas is the first person Nathan wakes up to. Also, it's interesting how you mentioned that Brooke was an afterthought. I mean, at the beginning of the series, she kind of was too. Brooke was supposed to be a minor character that got in the way of Lucas and Peyton, but Sophia Bush was so good and the fan response to her character was so positive, that she stayed on as a main character.

2022-03-21 01:21:50 +0000 UTCThis was not Nathan's dream scenario. It was just what he imagined would happen if the roles between him and Lucas were reversed. The lesson there was that Dan would've been a terrible parent no matter what. And that Nathan needs to focus on his own dreams as well as Haley needs to focus on hers. Also that Deb would be a great mom to Nathan if the circumstances were different, so that's why Nathan apologized to her in the end.

2022-02-07 08:57:21 +0000 UTCJust figured I'd mention the finale for this season was a 2 hour finale. That's how it was aired but I figure it will probably be separated wherever your watching it from.

2022-02-07 08:42:36 +0000 UTCThis will literally be the first time I watch this episode fully π I literally skipped til the end when it came back to the regular story because I actually couldn't, for whatever reason, connect or just like what was going on the screen

He was actually offered the part of Nathan but he wanted to do something different. I believe Dan got Karen and Deb pregnant at the same time. He chose to stay with Deb. In this scenario he picked Karen. He wasn't able to be as ambitious as he didn't go to college and he didn't have Deb's family money to fall back on. He's still a dick tho, just a poor one.
