I loved everything about this episode. It was a real treat learning at what exact moment Elena fell in love with Damon. I am shocked that they didn't go for the Season 2 finale moment when Damon was on his deathbed. But, the more respectable and better decision was this one. something signifying Damon's most selfless moment. And then, the beautiful irony sets in. Stefan gave Elena that necklace to keep Damon out of her head. And yet, the same necklace is what brings Damon into her heart. It's honestly gorgeous storytelling. Because without that moment, (and all the other moments Ric erased) Damon is just a crude monster who killed her brother. The Damon and Bonnie stuff is also gold, obviously. Probably what makes Season 6 so stellar.

I forgot how good this season really was. Every character hits this season. Elena, caroline, stefan, enzo and ofc bonnie and damon. I cannot say more but just you wait steven
