I honestly agree with you about Season 2 being better than Season 1. A lot of people see The Flash Season 1 as the holy grail season of the show, but that has always been Season 2 for me.

2022-02-09 21:59:17 +0000 UTCThat moment at the beginning of the episode, where Barry is running incredibly fast and you see the blue light, that was Barry accidentally opening a breach and ending up in Supergirl's world. Then when he ended up in Star Labs and said he was back and asked how long he was gone was when he finally got back. Also here's a link to a short clip on YouTube from the Supergirl and Flash crossover that I think gives a decent idea of what Barry and Kara's relationship is like, just so you can get a little bit of an idea before future crossovers that are more connected, just in case you want to watch it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dc46DPEymA.
