Been there myself so I understand that TV shows pulling this off is a reflection of how complicated relationships are in real life. Re: hating Rachel thing. Personally, I don't hate Rachel for it, it is a strong word to throw around but Rachel did accept she knew about Ross having a crush on her, that and how Ross acted around her should've given her some clue. They made her feelings take a nearly 180-degree turn in one episode kinda made it unrealistic. That's nothing bad to do about Rachel as a character, just sloppy writing imo.

2022-02-11 22:48:29 +0000 UTCYou said you hate when shows do this...regarding the convo between Ross and Rachel. On one hand...me too because we've waited so long for it as an audience. However, man does that stuff happen in real life. I messed up two different potential relationships that way in my 20's. A guy was trying to ask me to date him, but I didn't know that was what he was getting at because of how he worded it. Basically he was trying to see if I was open to it before actually asking me straight out. He'd always been the type to never have serious relationships and so I basically played it off like it wasn't a big deal. He started kind of pulling away after this, but it was subtle, so I just shrugged it off. Well, about 10 years later I found out from his friends that he was really interested in more and trying to ask me out. People dance around the subject a lot and it ends up causing issues sometimes. It's so funny because I've seen a few reactors that actually HATE Rachel because they are mad that she "ignored Ross" the entire first season and suddenly likes him and wants to break him and Julie up. I never got that considering Rachel didn't know about Ross's feelings. Personally, I really feel for Rachel here. She's in a weird spot. Nearly everything out of Chandler's mouth is sarcasm. So sometimes his humor is really dry. It can be hard to pick up on occasionally. Honestly he's the funniest of them imo.

We've had a whole season saying "poor Ross" and now the table's have turned. It is frustrating but it's a good build up because we want them to get togehter by now. But actually I think it's healthy that Rachel has to want him for a while first. It even the score a bit. A more equal relationship. It's not Ross' or Rachel's fault, it's just poor timing... However, if I were Chandler/Joey I would tell Ross what had happened, because even though he said he's happy with Julie, he could still chose Rachel now before him and Julie becomes serious...

2022-02-11 13:40:53 +0000 UTCI'm always surprised whenever you're surprised that Chandler is funny. He's known to be the funny guy in the group haha. But everyone has their fav funny Friend of course. Episode wise, this was always hard to watch cuz it's like...both of them missed the opportunity. I used to hate Julie but I guess now that I'm older I'm getting that Julie didn't deserve the hate. She didn't know about Ross and Rachel. She seems nice. But it's just rough for her cuz no way anyone gets over someone they've loved for over a decade in 2 weeks. It sucks for all 3 of them tbh.
