When they were making this show covid hit, and they had to shut down production. The actor who played Matt, for whatever reason decided he was not going to return to the show. The producers didn't want to recast during the season so they had to rewrite the last two episodes of the season (as well as this last scene). When they started filming again they had to reshoot a couple scenes right here (as the originally footage had Matt going to in the ways with everyone else). Now once they finished the season they did recast the actor who plays Matt and we will have to wait to see how they bring the character back into the show.
