Yes, you can be charged for pushing/convincing a person to commit suicide (but the charge/guilty rate on this is very low)

Regarding the case of the week, I am no legal expert, but yes, causing someone's suicide is a crime you can be charged with. The most basic definition of homicide is the killing of one human being by another human being. More specifically, under the umbrella of homicide is "causing suicide," which is defined as "A person who intentionally causes another human being, by force, duress, or deception." And it's a felony crime (Class B to be specific.) I am sure there are articles out there about it and am even more sure that the law differs from state to state, (The one I looked up was Indiana law) but I can certainly understand why the law is in place.

I agree with you about Asher and his growth so far. What he did in terms of Trotter Lake was horrible and he never really took responsibility for his part. Until now Asher has very much been that character that I have liked the least but as this season progresses, he does grow on me more.

I agree with Maria. I think they were super backed into a corner and Annalise did what she had to do. She never did it to punish or hurt Bonnie but I also understand that Bonnie will never accept that. It's such a traumatizing past. No way will she ever see this as anything but a betrayal. I am a little pissed at Asher following the revelation of Trotter Lake. He was just fine to not take any accountability and let the perps get away with something so heinous back then, even holding onto that denial all these years, but on half a suspicion he was ready to rat out Annalise even if Bonnie got caught in the crossfire because it was the right thing to do? Because the truth always comes out? Cmon, man. And even if he wasn't an active participant in the rape, he most definitely knew what had happened. I get that he was a scared kid but nothing about him seems like it changed him. Daddy took care of it and he went back to being the fun party boy. I dunno, Asher is just ok so far to me...I got so scared when Philip showed up at Oliver's apartment. I didn't even care about the remainder of the episode. I just wanted him to be ok.

I agree. I understand Bonnie's pain and why she is hurt Annalise told Asher her story but it was the only thing Annalise could do to stop Asher from testifying. Nothing else Bonnie said was convincing him.

Bonnie's backstory is super tragic, but I believe it when Annalise said she had no other choice. They would all be in jail right now if Annalise hadn't convinced Asher not to testify. And she needed something big for that and what's bigger than this? Especially knowing she was out of time to pull anything else.
