This particular episode might be the be worst of the season, it's not bad but it is very meh. I kinda enjoy Che actually but I'm aware I'm probably in the minority 😂 I can't help but love the comedy this season, although some storylines are a little off. And I absolutely agree, Kaitlin didn't need as much screen time as she got, or they could've just focused on her relationships with her mom and Bullit too. Those are her best scenes. I watched the next episode just last week and it is better than this one.

Yeeeah.. When you compare this season to season 1 it’s like a completely different show. So when they call The OC a classic - it’s the first season ESPECIALLY people have in mind. And season 2 was great too, season 3 a little too dramatic so I guess the writers were trying to get back to the balance of comedy and drama. But they go way overboard, it’s just not the kind of humor the show used to have. Adam Brody himself said in Rachel and Melinda’s podcast that by season 4 he was just done with the show. He said he didn’t put any effort into the acting, he just did the bare minimum, didn’t put any heart to it. And you can tell. So it’s no wonder the show got cancelled.. In season 1 they went through sooo many storylines and kind of quick. If they would’ve cut them up a bit and dragged them on just a little longer, you could have the second part of the season set in season 2. That way you get the interesting storylines, but they dig a little deeper. And then you cut up season 2 and save some parts for season 3. That way the show might have lasted longer, and them stop just at the right time.
