2022-09-30 07:41:06 +0000 UTCi disagree. i don't think anything faith said would've stopped them from kicking buffy out. i also don't think faith assumed she'd be the next leader once buffy was kicked out because she didn't want the role. out of all the people for spike to punch and take his frustrations out on for buffy getting kicked out...faith was arguably the LEAST one at fault, which is why it always annoyed me that he took out his frustrations on her. he would've been better off punching xander.

2022-09-20 23:30:38 +0000 UTCYeah, but regardless of whether it was Faith's decision, Spike KNOWS that she is in charge now. He knows that she could have stepped up and backed Buffy more. They could ONLY kick Buffy out because they had Faith in the first place. So, ultimately, as the next leader in charge, it WAS on Faith. As she told them this episode...she's in charge and it's her call. No, I don't think Faith intentionally wanted things to go down that way, but she also didn't stop it. She didn't step up as a leader in that moment and tell them they were in the wrong. So as another slayer...it is on Faith. Also, Faith and Willow are the ones that stepped up to him about Buffy. Spike was just dropping the truth on all of them with his speech and his actions. Besides, the fight was pure posturing between the two of them. Spike wanted the group to know they had done wrong and took it out on Faith because she's strong and he could. Faith obviously hit back.

He was wrong , but it's a Spike move to be impulsive a lot of the time . Plus , her and Willow both stepped up to him when talking which isn't a good idea if he's mad , but I think he knows better than to pick a fight with Willow .

They blame Buffy for what happened in the vineyard…but going into the sewers where its dark, has many different entry points they don’t know about without any recon is beyond moronic. But it was an ego trip to make them feel more important. Especially from Dawn and Giles. Spikes speech to the Scoobies was chefs kiss perfect. Giles is still salty that Buffy outgrew him. And Willow is also extremely upsetting, I can understand her character arch this season but I don’t like it much. The kicking out of Buffy and her attitude afterwards is so S1 meek little Willow. If you are going to kick Buffy out at least be tough about it like Dawn and not pouty voice and cow-sad eyes about it.

2022-09-20 10:02:18 +0000 UTCIt's kind of funny to me that in this episode you were cheering on Faith when she did that speech and told them that she was in charge and they would fall in line or else. Yet, when Buffy was doing the same thing, you said you were against it and she should be hearing them out. Yes, you're right. The show is paralleling Buffy and Faith and how the group is treating them. Yes, we are supposed to (as the audience) be on Buffy's side. I mean...Spike's right. Buffy had lead them through battle successfully time and time again. Then they turn on her just because the tension's high and some get hurt/die? Yes, Buffy technically lead them into a trap at Calebs. Some girls died and Xander lost an eye. However, SHE WAS RIGHT. The girls had to face battle eventually. She couldn't coddle them forever. Also, Caleb was protecting something that they needed, which is why Buffy said that she felt she had to go there. He was protecting the weapon. Buffy's instincts as the slayer have been a BIG part of this show. They've mentioned her having prophetic dreams and feelings that guide her to make the right choices. Yet, the minute things get a little bit tough...everyone...including the scoobies and her own sister abandons her. That's ridiculous. The first is their biggest threat yet. Buffy has already said that some might die. Heck, some of the potentials already HAVE died. But that doesn't mean her calls were wrong. She's the leader and they should have trusted her to make the right choices. We know from previous episodes where she's literally had mental breakdowns how seriously she takes her job and how the choices she makes weights on her. Obviously getting this kids killed is not what Buffy wants. She's terrified that she's going to lead them into battle and they'll all die. She NEEDED the gang to have her back and tell her that she's doing the right thing. Instead, the took all her fears and doubt in herself and made them even worse by confirming them and telling her what she's doing is wrong. Also, you thought the plan to go to Caleb's was bad, which is why you were against Buffy in those scenes. However, again...you have to trust that the slayer, after 7 seasons of watching her make choices and come out on top...knows what she's doing.

2022-09-20 05:45:54 +0000 UTCYeah, Charmed gets good halfway through season 1 and then it gets wonderful halfway through season 2 and by season 3 it's just plain fantastic. I think Steven had warmed up to witchy storylines thanks to TVD and the Originals so hopefully he'll like Charmed going forward as it's really an iconic show, just like Buffy

Yet another reactor who totally misses how that's a callback to The Scene That Shall Not Be Named in season 6. Great reaction. Except...I wish you would stop saying the last half of this season is when the show finally kicked things up. That's just because that's when you started making the big connections about The First, The Bringers, the Ubervamps, and Caleb. Aside from Caleb, the connections were there the entire season, since the season premiere. You missed it in the opening sequence of the first few episodes of the season where Potentials were getting hunted down and killed by the Bringers. You missed it when The First did its first big speech to Spike in the school basement at the end of the season premiere, when it went through the appearances of all of Buffy's previous Big Bads throughout the years. You missed it when Andrew and Jonathan were talking about getting the same message "From beneath you, it devours" message (only in Spanish, since they were in Mexico at the time) that was repeated at the beginning of the season. There was a WHOLE lot of build up that you missed out on. The season kicked it up a gear and started making the connections more clear in Conversations with Dead People. And I STILL don't think the connection was fully there for you. Not until Caleb arrived. There were only a couple standalone episodes this season that didn't directly tie into the overarching story of the season (Amy's revenge on Willow episode, or the Him episode of the jock w/ the supernaturally lucky letterman jacket for example), but season 7 def didn't wait until the halfway mark to kick in. All that being said...you're better late than never! LOL. Glad you're enjoying the show again. Would be awesome for you to go back and see the things you missed but prob not worth it at this point. I absolutely agree with the suggestion above about watching the last 2 episodes as close to back to back as possible to get the full effect. And I challenge you to let that be the 1 hour and 20 mins period where you don't look at your phone one single time. ;)

2022-09-20 04:48:35 +0000 UTCSome of your predictions for the finale, I was like "I wish...."Also, I think you're like the only person I've seen, who still kinda likes Kennedy at this point. As for Charmed, it is kinda like with Buffy, you have to get through the first season(not even the whole season really, just the first half of it) while the show finds it's footing and gets going. It does have some stinker episodes, and some great ones, but I feel like it gets it's mojo in the 2nd season, even if the witches aren't quite your thing. There is a reason it was pretty iconic along with Buffy in 90's-2000s. Also I join in with others, you should watch last 2 Buffy episodes together.

They didn't think there would be casualties and injuries? They kicked her out of her own house. The audacity is just too much for me. Bunch of ungrateful ingrates. I fully saw this coming from Xander but Willow and Dawn shocked me. Giles too. As for Spike, I can see the difference between pre and post soul Spike. I can differentiate between Angel and Angelus so I can do the same with Spike. I never blamed Angel for Jenny or any of the other horrendous things that came from Angelus so I don't blame Spike for what he did as a soulless demon.

Buffy asked the owner of the house "You got any Tab?" She was referring to Tab Cola, which was still a thing in the 90s. ;) BRB after w/ more! LOL.

2022-09-20 03:06:00 +0000 UTCI agree with Sofie that the best thing to do with the next two episodes is to watch them back-to-back. Purely for the hype from one episode to the other. You can watch them separately, however, as a 1hr20 finale, it HITS. Even if you post separately (I hope you don't lol), for your experience, watch them together. As for the Spike situation, you do have to separate from pre-soul to ensouled Spike. For me, it's so obvious that Angelus has done the same or worse in his time, so if you can forgive Angel for Angelus, you have to do it with Spike too imo. The issue is that they made Spike the comedy relief for so long, and the fact that he's never been the level of evil of Angelus. There's always been some form of redemption to his character, so we never perceived him as a genuine threat season 4 onwards. But he was still a demon, and now he has true humanity. Two separate characters, despite the fact Spike as a demon was closer to human Spike than Angelus was to Angel. As for the Buffy situation, they did kick her out, and obviously, they were wrong and she was right. They fully blamed her for people dying in a war and lost all faith in her because of something they knew was a possibility at the door. They could have gone and tried to survive on their own, but they chose the blanket of the slayer (solo while Faith was locked up) to take the brunt of the hits and then got mad AF when they had to join the fight and some died lmao. They can't make her a general and then turn on her for being one.

I strongly suggest watching the last two episodes as close together as possible. Even if they aired on different days, I think the whole flow of everything works better back to back. It really carries the momentum through a 1h20 min finale vs a 40 min finale. Even if you post them as two separate episodes. I just think that for your personal enjoyment watching them closer together makes more sense.
