I enjoyed the revival as a whole but there are definitely some choices made that I did not care for (eg, the cheating). RIP Edward Herrmann/Richard. He was certainly missed here.

Andrea

True Nyssa. He was even going to buy a house and I'm pretty sure there was mention of having a family. Then nothing for a decade. It's weird. They could have at least said they tried to have a family but couldn't so they dropped it or something.

Rebeccaf87

The whole series is definitely uneven, with a lot of weird and unnecessary subplots. For me the best thing about this whole revival is Emily, hands down. And of the most upsetting things aside from AS-P not watching S7 is her instance in HIMYMing the end. #ifyouknowyouknow

Agreed. marriage was a big thing to Lorelai, especially with Luke. She was so heartbroken after the ultimatum that she literally eloped with her rebound like 10 minutes later. Lorelai was also The One for Luke. He def wanted to marry her too, even if he got a little confused and nervous with April suddenly in his life. The fact that this huge thing that broke them up in the first place didn't get addressed in the decade since the finale is CRAZY

I agree that ASP kinda took this revival as her rewritten version of season 7. It's something she has mentioned herself. Which makes no sense cuz this revival happened almost a decade after the finale. She had to rewrite where the characters were at in life to match that but she didn't so Rory and Logan are still very immatutely doing this tango and Luke and Lorelai are still not married yet. It's one thing to dismiss season 7 but I wish she hadn't dismissed the decade long time jump either.

Amy didn’t watch season 7 and she is writing this, particularly in regards to Rory, like it’s following on from season 6. At the end of season 6 Logan is going off to London to work for his father and Rory is unsure of what her future holds…so here we are. But now she has made Rory and Logan have an affair with absolutely zero remorse or regard for their partners. It’s like she was determined to make these 2 the worst versions of themselves…and she succeeded. Fall is the best episode of the revival. You will enjoy that. I just hope you pick up on the full circle concept here in regards to Rory and the guys.

Well yeah if they don’t believe in. It’s not for everyone, but she definitely wanted to get married. Even gave him an ultimatum about it. Then all the sudden no longer cares about it. That just seemed off.

Rebeccaf87

So, Amy didn't work on S7. She said in countless interviews that from the first season she knew exactly where she wanted to the characters to go, and how the show would end, but she never got to do it for some odd reasons. So this revival is where she wanted the characters to go, so totally erase S7 out of your mind. I personally, don't like S7, so I liked the revival.

Tyler Mckenzie

I disagree, I believe the not getting married is totally realistic. I know many people who have been together for over a decade and aren't married. Not every couple has to get married. I personally don't believe in marriage, but, that's just my opinion.

Tyler Mckenzie

Personally, I really enjoy the revival, because I'm interested in Rory's story as an adult. I actually felt like how things go for her makes a lot of sense considering how she was raised. Also more characters pop up as the episodes go on which is fun

bluediners

That’s crazy, I get not liking it but not watching it when she is taking over the story.

Steven Merced

I Can't vote on this ep because he lowest voting option is gone.

Mariella Nilsson

100%agree

I LOVE your reactions but ayitl is too cringe for me, it is The only thing I physically cannot rewatch.

Mariella Nilsson

I was mad for two reasons. Apart from missing the intro song. Wah lol. 1) With the marriage being such a hot topic between Luke and Lorelai in season 6 and into 7, they still aren't married. That just doesn't feel realistic. Can she magically be involved in Aprils life now? Did she stop caring about marriage? 2) Rory cheating with Logan. Either be together or don't. Stop the nonsense. Like others have said, the showrunner didn't pay attention to season 7 which was a real shame and I feel messed up parts of the revival. That said, there are parts I really enjoyed.

Rebeccaf87

I personally don't like most parts of the revival. I like that we dive deeper into Lorelai and Emily's relationship and that Luke and Lorelai are back together, but that's about it. In my mind, the show ended when it did and that's that.

thisismaria27

I feel like the revival made her even worse. Like that she keeps "forgetting" her boyfriend - who does that?

thisismaria27

And this is what I meant when I said that the "sequel" completely undid all of the character growth we saw in Season 7. Luke and Lorelai are still not married, have no children, and do not communicate effectively. Rory is cheating on a boyfriend yet again, Logan is cheating on a girlfriend yet again, and there's more to come that I can't reveal yet. It's just so upsetting.

"Why does it look so different?!" Because you went from the original series, which was before HD, to this one, which is clearly many years after HD became widely available and thus much, much clearer. Despite the fact that Netflix redid the original series in HD, it managed to retain the homey 90s/00s feel. This is like a completely different world. Imagine watching the pilot of Supernatural and then an episode from whatever season you are on right now; the quality is so different.

cruzinbosco

See, I never understand that. She was still a part of season 7. She is credited on every single episode as an executive producer, meaning she had say in it.

cruzinbosco

I believe I heard someone say that the original writer/director didn't watch the last season of Gilmore Girls so that's why many of the storylines in this are disconnected. I don't really love this revival but there are many things I appreciate about it.

Michel Stephany Garces

omg fr? I didn't even realized

Michel Stephany Garces

I feel like Rory is the biggest disappointment for any fictional character.

Nyssa Rawther 🍉

I think of these as fanfiction instead of canon to the real show, but still some good moments.

sandrinegeller

Also the actress who plays Emily's maid is the same lady who plays gypsy who fixes the car

Stacey

Oh I’m so glad you’re watching the alternate version of the Gilmore girls! Don’t worry, it’s not connected whatsoever to the original show, this is just a bad what if scenario, right guys?! :(

Yorozuya

I loved the original ending. There are things I love and don't love about this new series...but I was soooo excited after waiting since it originally aired for these new eps..I stayed up all night and binged watched them all in a row
