2022-10-17 18:24:22 +0000 UTCSummer is definitely considered to be the worst of the 4 and Fall the best. Also definitely a case of too much Logan not enough Jess. Again it’s quality over quantity with that character and the way he is once again the only person that can lift Rory out of her bad patch, the fact that he is now the support for Luke and that he is there to help his mother and TJ is such a joy. He is becoming the next Luke and to see the bond between these 2 men is just wonderful character and relationship development. Loved the hat toss 😂.

2022-10-12 21:32:29 +0000 UTCI don't disagree that this wasn't done well, but when you waited for 9 yrs it was just amazing to see those characters again. Just like every season of the show having UPS and DOWNS so did this. However, more DOWNS... They seemed to want to make our characters not get better futures, to just stay the same. As a fan of the show, it's good to just watch these episodes/movies just because it's part of the story now, but not much is taken from this, clearly. It's a big disappointment, but I can still enjoy it as a whole.

2022-10-10 08:08:01 +0000 UTCNot entirely out of context, but I'd really love to see you react to Psych the movies 2 and 3. They are a hell of a lot better than the GG revival and only feel a little off due to Lassie's actor's stroke. I miss Shawn and Gus on this channel.

2022-10-06 04:12:38 +0000 UTCI really do believe that I was in a trance when this first came out. I waited so long so I devoured this in a GG binge. When it hits you, it does hit hard but that's like 5% of the whole revival, if that. Once the fog lifted, I was like...none of this makes sense. Judging by how aimless Rory is and how Luke and Lorelai are STILL working through their issues, this is just a continuation of s6 in a way, the s7 ASP imagined. It was just not fitting of the characters considering it's been a decade and all of this should have been resolved already. The jokes just didn't land and I cringe so hard when they were bodyshaming people in the beginning. I don't think this was something they did in the OG show. Michel's storyline and Jess randomly showing up as the Most Improved Character was probably the highlight of this one.

2022-10-06 04:11:01 +0000 UTCI remember my Facebook dash being filled with people loving the revival and alo pumped about it posting about it constantly. looking back idk if it was genuine love and enjoyment or just nostalgia and desperately clinging to what once was

2022-10-05 20:36:49 +0000 UTCOoh great take on calling Logan a Christopher! That makes me see him (and her pull/draw to him) in an entirely different (and even more unflattering) light

2022-10-05 20:33:10 +0000 UTCI remembered this "episode" being the worst, but wow, it's far worse than I remembered. The fat jokes, the jokes about 30-year-olds, the musical mocking domestic violence, incest, and child death... ugh, it was all terrible. I adore Sutton Foster, whom I first saw on ASP's other show Bunheads, but she couldn't save the first half. Having said that, I really enjoy the second half. I long for the drama between all the women, and between Luke and Lorelai. It's honest and well-written. I'm not sure how these two halves come together to form a whole.

2022-10-05 17:11:34 +0000 UTCJess was the best part for sure. They needed more him and Luke and/or Rory scenes.

2022-10-05 14:01:37 +0000 UTCit's sad that Broadway legends Christian Borle and Sutton Foster are a part of this horrible "musical" thing and i can only survive because of their voices

2022-10-05 12:02:50 +0000 UTCI think initially the reviews were positive like the first few days. The revival really boosted netflix and them making their own content. A lot of us mega fans watched it the moment it came out no matter the time it came out and binged hard we were so excited. There was so much hype. Most of us watched in one sitting and I think towards the end we were just in a haze. Until the 5 stages of grief kicked in. Which led to the general consensus that the revival is not good!

2022-10-05 11:34:19 +0000 UTC100%. The whole musical and the part at the pool were hard to watch. And Rory is so unlikable…

2022-10-05 11:23:15 +0000 UTCOh, and the Khaleesi comments and The Wild story at the end with Lorelai is largely to do with the pop culture at the time. Game of Thrones was still in its hey day around the time this series came out and Reese Witherspoons 'Wild' came out a couple years before. Gilmore Girls tend to do pop culture references throughout the series, but these ones always did seem a bit on the nose for me. Maybe it was the gap between the Finale and this show. The movie Wild was responsible, at the time, for a lot of women finding themselves. And differences between books to movies is always a big debate. I think Lorelai doing this is her saying she doesn't really know who she is, or just needs to have that time to figure it out. For 32 years she's been a struggling single mother, in and out of relationships that didn't work, and before that a child that felt suffocated by the life of privilege and expectation set for her. I think she's got to a point in her life where there's a lot of change; her business isn't doing so well (or at least needs improving), her friends are gone or leaving her, her and Lukes relationship still continues to have issues around communication, her dad has died and so there's no-one to support her turbulent relationship with her mother, and her daughter is a fully grown adult making her own life choices (for better or worse). She just doesn't know where to go from here.

2022-10-05 11:18:42 +0000 UTCI agree with pretty much every point you made on this one. While the actors who were in the musical are famous Broadway actors and are great to watch (cant remember his name, but the male actor is in the show SMASH which I definitely recommend if you like musicals - only 2 seasons), I think the inclusion of this random musical flabbergasted most fans and took up valuable reunion time. With what they must have paid the actors, we could have got more Jess & Luke/Rory, or had Melissa Mccarthy back... anything really. On the Jess return we got to see, once again, that he is the only one who really knows what's best for Rory and actually cares about what's best for her in comparison to Logan who continues to see Rory even though he has a fiance, and leaves it up to her whether she wants to continue the relationship. Emotional manipulation. He's 100% a Christopher. Really interesting to see how far you've come with Jess as well! Back in the day you would have been begging him to get off your screen and now you're like, 'Come back Jess, come back!!) 😁 The latter part of this episode is better than most of what's come before; I do get distracted when I hear the name Jack being thrown around, though, coz I constantly think of Milo's character in This is Us. 😅

2022-10-05 11:00:52 +0000 UTCsweet jesus, I cringed through this entire episode just like Steven. my God, I forgot how bad this was. And the reviews if I remember correctly liked the fall episode and the Emily/Lorelai of it all, but the fans hated the revival. Like it doesn't even matter if you were Team Jess or Team Logan - we all disliked it a lot for the same reasons you did. They wasted so much time on meaningless scenes and made Rory and Lorelai but especially Rory mega-unlikeable and ignored all the progress everyone made.

2022-10-05 08:13:38 +0000 UTC100% agreed. Fall is by far the best out of the four episodes, but I like to act as if the revival never happened at all bc it was just so bad.

2022-10-05 07:23:01 +0000 UTCFall is definitely the better ep of the 4. But this revival was sooo disappointing. Emily's story is the best

2022-10-05 06:11:44 +0000 UTCwell now i want to cry seeing the reminder of the intro song and memories playing in my head of the early seasons that captured my heart and made this show special and lovely before it kind of all feel to crud, at least for me in my opinion. i miss those earlier seasons so much :(

2022-10-05 04:19:52 +0000 UTCI hated him on Gilmore Girls, but I love him on This Is Us.

2022-10-05 03:19:27 +0000 UTCI agree. I feel like a lot of young women have a “Jess”. I know I do. Our relationship started out as a “friend/enemies” and after a while we ended up dating senior year of highschool. He was the “bad boy” and it lasted about a year and admittedly we BOTH screwed it up. But he’s still the first guy who has really believe in my potential for success. He’s was the first guy to love me for my mind. My “Jess” is still to this day a great friend and I will always keep him in my life bc he knows me and believes in me just like I do him. Our friendship survived my bestfriend and him seriously dating after he and i broke up. We love each other and want the best for one another. We are both still single so who knows but it reminds me a lot of this relationship

2022-10-05 02:25:12 +0000 UTCI believe Jess’s likability is due to the actor aging and making great acting choices for his character. I would like to use this as an opportunity to say PLEASE DO “This Is Us” it’s an amazing series and Milo is just outstanding in it

2022-10-05 02:18:45 +0000 UTCThe whole revival is painful. The writing is horrible, the character choices are ridiculous, the dialogue is embarrassing, and even the acting is weak. Don't judge the characters off of the revival. Think of it like bad fanfiction.

2022-10-05 02:13:45 +0000 UTCThe musical is pretty much the worst part of the revival, so congratulations for sitting through it. I only enjoy this episode, because of Jess. Btw, how far you've come with your opinion of Jess lol. Maybe you can see now why so many fans love Jess and his growth. It's also interesting how both times Rory was at rock bottom, Jess was the one to help her get out. Luke and Lorelai's lack of communication after all these years drives me insane. They're too old to be acting like that.

2022-10-05 02:08:11 +0000 UTCIs it bad if a want to point and say "HA! HA" My god that musical...
Sofie
2022-10-05 01:31:31 +0000 UTCSo, I think the episodes are titled Winter Spring Summer Fall because of the lyrics in the song "You've Got A Friend" which was written by Carole King. (Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall....all you have to do is call....and I'll be there) Carole King also wrote "Where You Lead" which was the original theme song for the show. Carole King also plays Sophie in Gilmore Girls - she's the music store owner. I haven't actually read that anywhere, it's just an assumption. Carole King has written tons of songs that you know: I Feel The Earth Move (under my feet, I feel the sky come tumbling down), So Far Away (doesn't anybody stay in one place anymore...), It's Too Late (it's too late baby, now, it's too late...) Will you Still Love Me Tomorrow, and a million others. It's pretty funny when she gets up in this episode and plays "I Feel The Earth Move" and Taylor tells her it's not catchy....
