I used to watch the series with my mother, who passed before the revival. It was the only show we were invested in together. For this reason, this is a

what a disappointment. they managed to get everyone back from the original show and the revival still sucked lol. so much wasted potential here smh.

The disappointment at the end...

Christopher made a Supernatural reference... guess you didn't catch it.

You probably forgot Robert... there was always three. (Exactly...LOL!)

i saw the hottest take on youtube the other day about how gilmore girls the show is rory's book. it's her story, her retelling. so everything is kind of golden and glossy. the unrealistic parts are her tinted glasses sharing her story. but a year in a life is the REAL story. the reality outside of her story. and that...that made such sense to me. and looking at it that way really kind of gave me this different understanding of things.

As the ending is about history repeating itself, Logan is Rory's Christopher. This is not the most upbeat conclusion, but thats life. Sometimes kids who want nothing akin to their parent's relationship/s end up in the exact same situation. For instance, children of divorced parents are 30 to 60 percent more likely to get divorced themselves.

Happy birthday🍰🍾💐( if it was this friday)

i think she had this idea that lot of women had at the time that somehow being pregnant and alone was some kind of #girlboss move and showed independence and an "i dont need a man." which....okay. i was seeing it a lot, women wanting to peruse becoming mothers without a father through one night stands or treatments. the problem though is us as the audience don't want a lorelei 2.0. as much as rory is a mini lorelei in a lot of ways, we wanted to see her be her own person and grow into her own person with her own story. giving her this storyline just felt so out of touch and disrespectful to rory. she's always been her mom's little mini me. hell she's even named after her. girl can't even have her own name and now, much less her own unique story. it's all a copy of her mother's right down to a christopher and luke situation and it's just lowkey kind of heartbreaking. she could have been her own brilliant character combining the best and worst of all the women in her life in a very unique portrait but instead we get a carbon copy down to the romance of her mother and it's just???

You are not alone in your reaction. Amy’s plan from the very beginning was that Rory would end up just like her mother, pregnant and raising it without the father. History repeats with Rory, Jess, and Logan. That’s the whole premise of this entire show. All I really wanted to see was Rory and Jess fall in love all over again, not just hint to me that it will happen eventually. I want to see it dammit!

Dean's wife being named named Jenny is a play on Jared's actual life. His wife is Genevieve (aka Genny) and they have 3 children.

Plot twist: the father is actually the cosplayer one-night stand guy. LOL

I agree that this is the infamous „showrunner wants the show to end one specific way no matter how much the show has outgrown it“. I did not like it.

thisismaria27

yup I hated the ending too. yup the fall episode was the best and showed how much potential this revival had if they had played their cards right. yup Rory sucks. idek if I have any real comment further than that. I am very glad I blanked the revival out entirely.

thisismaria27

The way I understood the Emily thing, is that is was a running joke through the show that she couldn't keep a maid. Every episode there was a different maid and she fired them and got upset at them for no reason. Now she has a maid that she doesn't understand but whom she likes and is just letting these people take care of her and her being more relaxed....

Like HIMYM, ASP had an ending in her mind and she had to stick to it no matter how things changed. Before the revival aired there were spoilers that ASP had always wanted to end S7 with "four little words" and that is how she would be ending the revival. there was so much speculation on the Internet. A lot of us figured it out, but were in denial that is how the show would end and even worse how she originally intended to end the show way back in s7. With a fresh out of college Rory pregnant.....

Sofie

I really really hope you replace this with Hart of Dixie

On a lighter note, your reaction to Dean popping up was exactly how I imagined it lol.

Also this is the description of the movie/book wild Driven to the edge by the loss of her beloved mother (Laura Dern), the dissolution of her marriage and a headlong dive into self-destructive behavior, Cheryl Strayed (Reese Witherspoon) makes a decision to halt her downward spiral and put her life back together again. With no outdoors experience, a heavy backpack and little else to go on but her own will, Cheryl sets out alone to hike the Pacific Crest Trail -- one of the country's longest and toughest through-trails.

Stacey

Timing wise it's Logans baby. The actor who played Logan is the only one who knows who the dad to Rorys baby is besides the creators. They left it open ended but with very obvious clues.

Grace

I wrote this before I started the reaction. You say no one is giving u a good replacement for this. Well hart of Dixie and Greek 100% have this charm and fun filled small town feel

Stacey

Also, it seems that the horribly executed idea they were trying to set up here (badly) was that Logan is the Christopher in Rory's story and Jess is the Luke. But they did a bad job with that and also that idea is annoying in and of itself. 1. Logan and Rory are not Christopher and Lorelei. It's a disservice to their relationship to say that (aside from the obvious disservice this revival did to their relationship already). 2. Why does Rory's life have to mimic a version of Lorelei's? Why couldn't she be successful and independent the whole time instead of ending up basically unemployed and alone and pregnant? There's no creativity or joy in any of that.

sandrinegeller

"That is fucking awful" is a great description of the whole revival. It is not canon in most people's minds. It was stupid and a dis-service to so many characters and their growth, especially Rory and Logan. Like listening to that conversation with Rory and her dad knowing the ending is crazy. Is she trying to use her dad to justify her plans to raise the kid without Logan? That's so shitty of her. Like you can't just make that decision. It's all so stupid. Just think of the original show and don't let this revival ruin it.

sandrinegeller

Hart of Dixie and Greek please 🤞🤞

Stacey

this this this!! i've been meaning to go back and watch this show. it was my comfort and lowkey kind of my everything during some very hard times. the cast is incredible and i just really miss that show. i think steven would enjoy it! you've got the parents, the older teens, the younger teens, the little kids, and everyone is growing and finding themselves as the show progresses and it's just so damn good!

emily ღ

If you want another show that gives you the good family feel with drama watch 7th Heaven. It's was created around the same time as Gilmore Girls. I highly recommend it!
