2022-10-16 04:29:01 +0000 UTCexactly!! i feel like shawn sees himself as The Protector of the group. that's why when things go wrong or bad - like cory and topanga's breakup - he feels responsible. not because they broke up but because they are his loved ones and they're experiencing pain and he can't do anything to stop that or take it away. shawn is a martyr a lot of the time and i genuinely think he'd rather feel pain than see his loved ones go through any hurt. he's so damn good in that way. he wants to protect people. we see with the chracter of i believe her name was wendy. we see it over and over again in other situations too. shawn wants to protect. he wants to keep his loved ones from hurt and pain. cory and topanga are hurting and he feels helpless and therefore blames himself.

2022-10-16 03:07:04 +0000 UTCThis is one of my favorite episodes of Boy Meets World as well. I think the Jennifer Love Hewitt guest spot was because she was dating Will Friedle (Eric) at the time. So her character's scenes in this episode were mostly her interacting with Eric which included a kissing scene with Eric because in real life that was her boyfriend at the time. Also this episode is mocking the horror movie genre and Jennifer was "I Know What You Did Last Summer" which was released a few months before this episode aired.

2022-10-16 02:44:54 +0000 UTCI think my favourite thing about this episode is that it's all Shawn's dream, so this is how he sees everyone. Like Jack trying to kill himself when he thinks he won't be able to live in his apartment anymore. It's just so in line with how we know Shawn sees him at this point. But there are also the smaller things, like Angela and Topanga both grabbing his arms when they're freaked out, and everyone kinda turning to him when things happen. I mean, the Angela and Topanga thing is because they're both beautiful girls who of course he'd want them grabbing him. But also, he feels the need to protect his friends. Idk, I just think it's all so well done. :) But I really love that while it's a fun episode, there is a deeper story there with Shawn feeling so bad about Cory and Topanga breaking up. I just think it's a really well-done episode. And poor Kenny. He just wanted a pencil. Instead, he ended up getting yelled at and then got detention, then Shawn dreamed of killing him... (Feeny totally gave him detention because he, like Shawn, didn't like the idea of him hitting on Topanga though... Hahaha)
