I know that kitchens are notoriously tough, especially fancy kitchens like that one, so I wasn't surprised that Jeff fired Scuba for ruining shrimp and then throwing another co-worker under the bus. That's not cool. I know that he was desperate not to lose his job, but he made a sizable mistake and should have owned up to it, or at least have had a decent/plausible excuse. Also, I was never sure if Travis was just a regular employee. He really does seem like John's assistant at times. The Emmett and Toby thing was able to happen because of the conversation he had with Nikki. She was able to let go of such a horrific thing that made her so angry and lost. Clearly, this thing with Simone was making him very angry, but it's hard to hear that story and continue to hold that grudge he had with Emmett. That's why I liked Toby's choice at the end. It was his way of letting go.

Yeah this season is like two in one. Seasons 2-4 are normal 20-22 episodes and season 5 is only 10.

I was angry with Scuba. He seemed like such a nice guy until Daphne politely turned him down by saying she’s seeing someone. Then she covers for him and he repays her by outing her. So she gets to lose a friend and coworker plus be embarrassed in front of everyone. Even if there wasn’t an age difference, that still would have been a hard situation.
