i'm okay with bonnie leaving kai. he tortured her, abused her, and put her through hell. yes he has a bit of humanity now after merging with his brother...but he's already shown that even post merge...that darkness/evilness is still within him and can be triggered easily.

I honestly saw it coming from the beginning of season 2 because I also knew Damon and Elena would get together. So, when it finally happens...they pull this and it's not even really them. It annoyed me and really undercut what they had written for them up until this point. I didn't like them reintroducing the cure. I won't say more since it would spoil future episodes, but I didn't like it. I feel like Elena has changed and grown as a character since the beginning of season four when she wanted a cure. She's settled into being a vampire. So Bonnie giving it to Damon for Elena here didn't feel earned writing-wise for me. I hated Bonnie leaving Kai. I get that he deserved it. However, that's a villain move that Bonnie pulled there. A hero characters wouldn't make that choice. Kai was changing and growing. I actually thought they were going to do a redemption thing for him until this point. I would have almost rather they did the same thing they did for Klaus and Damon...kept him around as the antihero type.
